something people don't often notice is how the mic quality gets better gradually through each verse as he gets more confident/successful. also, the way the entire song follows the same rhyme scheme. theres a lot of bars in it too, so its not just a personal song, but its got bars you might only catch on your third or fourth listen, if not later.
like you pointed out with how the verses all start the same, you hear it go from "i used to be the type of kid who always thought the sky was falling"
"why am i so differently wired? am i a martian?"
to "why am i so differently wired in my noggin"
to "now i think the fact that i'm differently wired's awesome"
im not aware of all the connotations, but that combined with two songs where he references having aspergers make the song hit even more differently, specially the way the last verse starts. eminem and "motivation for little kids" dont really go hand in hand (note- i said motivation for little kids, not motivation in general) but i think that part sounds straight out of a kids book lol (or from snoop dogg's new nursery rhymes youtube channel...its called doggyland)
Very cool! Thanks for the take!😊
He also pauses and stumbles over words in the first verse. He's way too good for that to be anything but intentional. He's gaining his voice throughout the whole song.
@@ghoulthebraineater whoa i never noticed that
@@theronis the whole flow of the first is just kind of off. Shaky and unsure. The pauses feel like what happens to me when I speak. It's like my mouth is lagging just behind my brain and needs to buffer occasionally.
If he's not autistic then he's one of the most insightful people ever.
@@ghoulthebraineater yeah i hear it now that you pointed it out! and i agree but i also think he probably is..its more common than people think
As someone who was recently diagnosed with ASD 1 this song describes my experience so much. That line "Am I a Martian?" kills me. I thought that about myself so many times.
“What do I know I’m just a mental health professional “ great reaction 😊 Eminem is such a great songwriter
I question his qualifications

@@johnfive2440 why lol
What he felt and was as a kid, it really feels like that's what I feel and am as an adult. I relate so much in the not fitting, being wired differently, and I love when he says "But if this is all there is for me life offers, why bother even tryin' to put up a fight? It's nonsense". So relatable. I guess the main difference is he found something he was great at, and it gave him confidence, allowed him to find a place and grow out from it.
This is one of my all time favorite songs from him. From the vulnerability to the progression of his rhyming in each verse getting better and better while telling his story. It's just a masterpiece ❤ Great reaction 👏😊
This song is about Em being Autistic! “Differently Wired”.
Most neurodivergents have always said we feel like aliens, so often it comes up in a majority of seminars.
Chalking up the sidewalk, talking to himself, or inside hiding. The social anxiety as an autistic little boy. The kid thinking he eyeballed him… but he didn’t understand because he didn’t.
Always listening to music, headphones on… stimming. Built a bike with parts he found in the garbage, because autistics are great at taking things apart and putting them back together. Which he learned he could do with words. And he accredits to being autistic in the last verse.
“Now I think the fact that I’m differently wireds awesome, because that’s how I can work words like this.”
The chorus, she’s talking about “inside of your world” referring to how neurodivergents experience a different world than neurotypicals.
There’s so many other clues in there but that’s just off the top of my head. He makes references to being autistic/having Aspergers in several other songs throughout his career. Like “And I'm sick of poundin' a square peg in a round hole. Sorry, another catchphrase.”
I’m pretty sure I have Asperger’s and so I love that Em created this song. Ive loved it for a decade now since middle school, which was way before I heard the term neurodivergent. I spent so many years feeling misunderstood and broken and it’s amazing to know that somebody so famous and successful can relate ❤
100% this is about autism. “Differently wired” is a dead giveaway

The very first lines are masking. "Tell me what to say, no matter if it's true, I'll say it all for you."
Omg,,you have no idea, was going down the wormhole (RUclips) looking fore some awesome eminem reactions,,and then your vid popped up, uploaded 12 minutes ago😅 awesome man,,great video mister 👏🏼 👌🏻

Every video I watch of you is more elaborate than the previous. I love it!!!

i believe (from my experience because of course art is subjective) in this verse what he's referring to is as follows.
Being autistic/adhd i have a tendency to sparatically fixate myself on things other people would consider "trivial" or "frivolous". "I obsess on everything, in my mind small ++++ bothers me..."
I'm not heavily reactive to things that others might be severly stressed over (an absent parent, abusive household, etc). BUT if my headphones broke I'd lose my mind because i couldn't listen to my music in the way that i like best.
That one little thing can cause me to have a melt down but in the face of something that's normally considered "traumatic" i am cool, calm, and collected while everyone else loses their mind.
It's hard to explain, I don't know why I'm like this other than my brain is "wired differently" which doesn't really explain it. It's like "your this way because of this but we can't explain the reasoning behind why your brain has decided an itchy sweater is worth a total meltdown but your car breaking down isn't." I digress.
Anyway, that's just my interpretation 😅
You finally did the reaction I requested a while ago this is my number 1 favorite song of all time
Super underrated song by the goat
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a song where someone just rhymes the entire first sentence like that throughout the whole song. That is unreal. And be able to tell a story with it too
2013 MMLP 2 can’t believe this CD 💿 was nearly 10 years ago already

The reaction to „and I don‘t need no damn psychologist“ was hilarious
My favorite Eminem song
Never saw that video. I typically hate the random videos put together for a song, but that was a good one.
Love this one! Definitely always love the Eminem reactions. GOD Bless Tom!
Love your Eminem reactions🥰 if you would react to another amazing song about a troubled childhood, please react to P!nk, "family portrait", but make sure it's the official music video🙏🙏🙏
I 2nd this^^ Absolutely should do Family Portrait.
That dawkins line goes hard as fuck
I enjoy how much you enjoy his music. I’ve always been pretty shy with my musical taste because it was made fun of when I was younger and it’s nice to see someone enjoy something that I enjoy.
Not everybody can understand this man

As a mental health professional, if you are. You should know you took an oath and you absolutely cannot diagnose somebody without spending time with them and I am sorry through their music isn't time
Oh shut up
??
You're not a mental health professional, John. You definitely sound like you need serious mental help though.
