  • Tanystropheus was a genus of archosauromorph reptiles that lived during the Middle Triassic period. This reptile had a bizarrely long neck, which only consisted of 12 vertebrae. It is thought to have been a fish-eater, using its long neck to snatch fish either on the seabed or in the water.
