We were in Keystone a few months ago and we loved the 1880's train ride, and Custer state park where we went on a "Safari" it was great we had a very knowledgeable tour guide got lots of up close photos of Buffalo. Don't forget to take some carrots to feed to the wild Burros.
Also check out Prairie Village in Madison SD. (near Sioux Falls) Very interesting turn of the century town, with a running steam locomotive that you can ride.
I was born o Ellsworth AFB . All I have are videos and asked my parents to visit next year. I am a federal employee and I think I am going to make that move in a few years.
I am taking a road trip from Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota to the Black Hills in South Dakota. Planning about 11-12 days for the entire trip.
Actually looked it up and it is a shop called "Dakota Drum Company!" 603 Main St, Rapid City. But we stopped at Praire Edge as well and that place is incredible!!!
Favorite thing to do in South Dakota? Leave. I'm just kidding. There are a couple of caves in the area that are open to the public. I forgot which one we toured but it was a very good tour. We plan on going once more as our 7-year-old is now old enough to enjoy and remember the experience. I don't think we'll be back. It's not horrible. But I've been to the area 3 times already and I'm pretty much all SD'ed out. But we have done a lot of things on your list. There also used to be a Flintstone theme park in the area. I was dead or close to dead the last time we went perhaps 8 years ago. I'm pretty sure it's just a bunch of trees and weeds at this point.

Just got back from Sioux Falls. Don't miss the Great Plains Zoo and Museum. Interesting that it's basically in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls.
