- A rare Tuesday City Council meeting is set tonight due to the holiday and there is plenty for Council members to discuss. Recycling is back on the agenda, the City Manager will give his monthly report, and Council will look to adopt the 2021 budget on first reading. Tune in, we're live at 5:30.

The Bible talks more about divorce and adultery than homosexuality. Both of these are norms in Christian households.

As an example, there are a large number of Methodist 'reconciling' churches which are proudly open to all.

I’m bisexual and even in a progressive state such as Colorado I’ve faced backlash and bigotry, but nothing in comparison to what you experienced on this day or (I’m assuming) in the days following. I had no idea people could be those vile and hateful..” Additionally, a wave of people changed their profile pictures to rainbow flags, businesses began voicing support of the LGBTQ+ community, our local newspaper printed an article giving 100% support to our Mayor, Carrie and Magic City Equality, and Carrie went viral on Tiktok! I might be optimistic, but it gives me hope for the future. :) Stay safe out there in Colorado! My cousin and her wife live out there and love it. 💜

She faced hatred and bigotry head on and showed what she is made of. Aside from a noisy minority, Minot and North Dakota must be proud to have her serve.
I also want say I admire how much patience and reserve was displayed by the Mayor. There is no way I could keep my composure as he did.

To the gentleman who asked if a parent of a young child would be ashamed or embarrassed to explain the flag, I would be ashamed and embarrassed of my own parenting if my child had to ask and didn’t already know. My 8 and 4 year old recognize that flag as supportive of LGBTQ+ people and the oppression that they face constantly, as evident by the public appearances exhibited here today. I shouldn’t have to clarify, but my husband and I do not identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community other than to support them in alliance. Their policies and values are going to be expressed when they run, that's how running for office works. You vote for their policies and values, not their sexual/gender identity. Religion and politics have no business being related.

There’s no evidence of exceptions or special treatment here, in fact the Mayor outlined the code that simply restricts anything from surpassing the position of the USA flag on the pole.

No idea why I am watching this in The Netherlands. But that presentation about the recycling was very intresting. I learned a lot about presenting projects. I wish I could follow their discussions in the future. How is gathering of trash beem done? Do living areas have collective area where residents seperate thrash in different bins? Jason did a great job presenting.
This is REALLY LATE so I'm sorry 😥, but thanks for showing interest in our city, and I'd be glad to answer your questions about the new recycling program! Garbage collection is a bit different in America (I heard that in the Netherlands you have collective bins? Let me know if this is not true), everyone has a personal trashcan that we put our garbage in. At the end of the week, it's put out to the curb (infrastructure is different here too so nearly everyone has a single-family dwelling sided by a giant road) and a large truck drives by, picks up the trashcan, and empties it into the LARGE bed of the truck. A truck will generally do this for a neighborhood, then dump the trash in a landfill to rot.
Our recycling program will give every citizen another garbage can, just for recyclables, and a recycling truck will come along the same time as the garbage truck, take the recyclables, and haul them to the recycling center that is currently being built. It is not mandatory for every citizen, but everyone will be defaulted into it and will be required to contact the city council and provide a valid reason for opting out (rather than "I don't want to"). I apologize if any of this comes across as condescending, it is really not my intention and all I mean to do is bridge some cultural differences so it's perhaps easier to understand.
Also, I agree: Jason is a superstar at getting the recycling program going and getting the city council to accept it! (Though we now have a new mayor with different ideas of what city money will be spent on, so it may be delayed AGAIN). Such restraint by those officials though, the US got a lot of points back for their behaviour.
That's one reason I left the UK. I may not like what they said, but they are free to look like idiots. Making them criminally liable for their stupidity only reenforces their drivel, and elevates them into martyrdom.
For these people to not understand that their actions and words are the penultimate example of homophobia, hatred and intolerance is just outstanding.
