I feel like this quest is calling Genshin fans out judging people only by their appearances :D And Neuvillette - best dad. Never expected at the start of fontaine that he would be such a soft and loving character and how he slowly learns how to joke around and better read social cues with Wriothesley is just so cute.
same thing with furina, people always just she was shallow and vain and annoying but i always had a feeling that her story would be much more complicated and now everyone adores her
If I thought Neuvillette was a doting father before, Sigewinne's story quest and especially her Collected Miscellany really solidified that for me tenfold. He sounds like a proud dad there and even admitting outright that he loves being a parent.
I can't believe I thought he would be a cold, unfeeling judge at first, and maybe even a villain at some point. It's definitely a pleasant surprise that Neuviillette turned out to be one of the kindest and gentlest characters there is.
@@bengreene4972 Furina was meant to be initially annoying though. This way her story is even more impactful: realising that a character you thought to be simple and annoying is much more complicated is great.
There's no need to try to shame people for disliking her initially either (I'm not saying you do this, just that I've seen people try to).
There's nothing wrong with making assumptions about fictional characters, and it's fine to change your mind anytime

Neuvillette originally didn't have a constellation, but he made one up for himself when SIgewinne and the other Melusines wanted to read his horoscope, and he didn't have the heart to tell them he didn't have one.That, to me, is peak father behavior, lmao. Not to mention the whole Sigewinne's Collected Miscellany, Neuvillette went full father-mode with that, even admitting that he really enjoys being a parent.

I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by its story and execution.
Why was my first thought Sigewinne is becoming a Sephora kid-
When I played this story quest in the beginning, I immediately thought of the episode "Clay Face" from The Batman Animated Series. I was so surprised how right I was.

I think the writers did this as a jab at people who said they'd only pull for Sigewinne if she looked like a melusine.
You even see someone in the livestream comments saying this was "to avoid an alt skins option"
I feel like Paimon’s comments at 2:09:14 were a subtle way of making fun of people who wished Sigewinne was a real melusine instead of a human-like one
Bro I just finished this quest last night and right in the middle of one of the really sad parts, my neighbor started launching fireworks. The rollercoaster of emotions I went through last night, going from sad and almost crying to OMG THERE’S FIREWORKS RIGHT OUTSIDE MY HOUSE

I went into the quest knowing it’ll be something crazy in there. One of my fave story quests.
I had zero expectations for this quest, and only finally did it yesterday. It was a good one.
I forgot how atmospheric, the Fortress of Meropide's music is😅
Yet another story quest that is a result of Vacher and his Sinthe antics XD
I love how Vacher's psycho ahh still have some effect even after his death. It makes the world and story feel real.
No the old woman int the end cutscene is not Potton's mom. THat story was 500 years ago.
The beginning and end of the quest with the cutscenes were the best part. Sigewinne is so cute!
Little side though, imagine we got the potion and it allowed us to switch our main character to the other twin

Also, just how many quests are we gonna see Vacher in? He was the main villain of the first half of the archon quest, then in furina's story quest he was responsible for the death of the director, and then this.
I mean he did dissolve a bunch of women over a decent period of time. It's only natural the things he did would have a massive effect across Fontaine.
Love that we can still feel the ramifications of his BS
@@lacytaylor1501 i definitely understand that, but it just feels in every other story quest we are taking care of the "final batch" of sinthe and it still keeps popping up. lol they truly taking examples form real life eh?
@@apoorvjoshi2383 Well in this case we aren't dealing with Sinthe, it's dissolved Fontainian remnants. I also find this whole situation to be so much worse than previous Vacher adjacent issues simply because by the end of it we learn that people were just slathering their faces in the fluid left from people being dissolved and are still completely unaware of this.
In last movement that lady fainaly find har old good friend i am happy for that and i like it about this story quast ❤
The whole scenario in the Fortress of Meropide was so Alpha-Legion like... And Wriotheseley was an Inquisitor on the case of catching face switching heretics.

Lol I didnt expect too much about this quest, like just did it and claimed 60 primos but damn the story hits different. And I also believe the meaning the developers want to convey is "Dont judge someone just by their appearance".
Need to do the it myself first.

I've played the story and my two nitpicks of it were just the fact that they made it very obvious who the villain was and at the same time really made some of the characters act dumb in order to not find out too soon.
That's where my second nitpick comes where they really try to force some characters to act naive like Paimon and the Gardes who kept trying to convince themselves that "No way it's Rawat! He's so good looking and beautiful people can't be evil!" Which to me felt so weird to watch go down.
Which is weird cause we've had handsome or pretty villians - dottore , raiden for example. Their bad people but good looking so I feel paimon would know that good looking people can be bad . I also feel like some people who write some hangouts and storys don't like paimon and write her badly and out of character
thats the point? Its literally a message towards "beauty standard" if anything the best example of this "celebrity worship, people will do anything to kept that ignorance because of what they look even defending it. Rawat as obvious as it is. its exactly how people would have reacted if it was irl, Its quite realistic
@@Ishakai_ It contradicts heavily to the characters in Genshin who, especially in fountaine's cases, show heavy smarts in deducing the most convoluted and outrageous situations and also show heavy suspicions on many people they came across in other quests but when it came to this quest, they really made the characters dumb themselves down for the sake of not revealing the entire plot too quickly. Like I said that's only a small nitpick of mine, I liked the quest itself.

I don't really any contradictions if anything if we get what you said the message of beauty standards just won't be as hard hitting .they're not dumbing down the characters again the whole spiel is to be blinded by lookism personally all the characters actions are pretty realistic towards "rawat" handsome,smart, business minded, had a sick mother. But that statement alone you wouldn't possibly rule him out as the offender despite that being a known trope(for us the players) it's different perspective for the characters in the story .

i hated the cops in this quest and the people who had 'known' rawat, the cops for some reason just kept assuming rawat was innocent despite some evidence coming up that he could be involved willingly and those other 3 sucked

Judging people by their appearance is down right detestable! I don’t understand why people think outward beauty is all that matters. What truly makes someone beautiful is NOT the outward appearance, but the heart.
If someone is kind, loving, compassionate, and caring, then he/she is beautiful. If selfish, ego driven, a bully, greedy, prideful, cruel, or a complete scoundrel, then he/she is ugly.

It actually WAS an offensive question by modern standards. Imagine calling someone have Indian and half Caucasian a 'half breed'. That's basically what Paimon just did.
While I agree if we ask someone in the real world that question it would be offensive, in a fantasy setting where there are different species it takes a different feeling. Half breeds are a common thing in fantasy worlds like genshin.
Isn't for paimon quest it count as a valid question? Like it's not just people from different place having a kid but this is a being from another dimension having a human facial feature while the others still look the same

Someone who has both Indian and Caucasian ancestry is still just a human. There's nothing really unusual about it
As far as In universe lore tells us, Humans and Melusines can't just make hybrids with another.
Which makes the appearance of a Human looking Melusines an unusual thing.
