Resorts and bigger local islands have some waste water recycling and cleaning. Where does the tap water come from? - Mostly this is desalinated sea water or collected rain water. How do they do for the toilet? - They have normal western toilets. Where do their feces go? - Into the ocean. What happens during storms? The sea level doesn't rise? - Yes, this can happen during very strong storms. There can be some flooding and beach erosion. But you should be fine, if you visit outside of the rainy season. Best time is from November to March.

Yes. You can take a speedboat. That is cheaper, but not all resorts offer that option. Best to choose a resort close to your arrival airport.

I don't see any water villa with a private pool in Riu Atoll in any booking site
