- I have been gifted a vintage pack frame and am tuning it into a custom for me pack frame ,using my Italian Army rucksack as a base pack for frame. First time out I popped a strap, reinforced the straps added a cargo net. It fits pretty good and is a work in progress. I take a walk in the forest talk about my set up then walk out so we have some walking and talking in this one hope you enjoy watching it was a nice day for a walk.
Looking good anytime outdoors is great brother. Enjoy life my friend.
Thank you
Looks great 1822MC!
@@Vule34 thanks it’s a work in progress
Glad you are getting use out of that stuff. The frame is from an old Kelty style of pack that I use to have, 70's - 80's time frame. The straps came from Academy Sports, so I paid way too much for them, to just rip like that. 😡 I do like the way you fixed it, nice tie out point, were the paracord is. And except for the turnbuckle, the rest of the hardware is stainless, or aluminium. Man I like the pockets on that pack, lots and lots of room.! Ok, I'll shut up for know lol!
@@edwinklaver I remember now 😀, a few more tweeks and it should fit like a glove . I knew all I needed was an old fashioned frame and I would have a good rucksack with really big pockets! I love my A.L.I.C.E pack we have been through a lot but I think I can do more with rack just don’t have the webbing for gear . I guess I just need a European state of mind and then dialing it in should be easy . I just need to remember that I don’t have to fill it up 😆
Oh yeah I might try weaving a bottle net for strap that or tie a knife to it. I used 3 nut bolt and washer sets because that’s all I had but now I think the paracord is going to stay could always tie a compass to it to.
This is the first video of Yours I have seen and thouroughly enjoyed it!
Where did You get the Boots and what are they sold as?
Cheers Mate!
@@ianmatthews3041 I’m glad you liked it I like to repurpose things, you really don’t need the latest and greatest stuff to have fun . My boots are made by LaCrosse Venom snake boots, very happy with them I did a review of them awhile back.
@@1822MCAdv Thank You very much will look for the vid!
Great video as always. Sent you an email about some go pros, promise it ain't a scam.
@@seventy-9 received and sent one back to you
I watched your videos of where you cleaned that area up. I also did my hammock camp out there and just now put 2 & 2 together that it's the same place. There is nothing wrong with repurposing that frame. Did the hardware you punched into the strap dig into your shoulders at all?
Yes except for the abuse and trash dixon field is a great place, easy place to do a trash video.
Haywood landing is nice but you have to park in lot and hike in keeps the retards to a minimum and mostly deal with fisherpeoples trash
The hardware on straps is in a nonbody position so until I find a good replacement strap these should work,I think a padded belt will be nice for distance rucking as things cool off I hope to do some remote hiking. It’s the only way I can have a trash free trip . I have scouted out some places but know that if it looks like a trail then people are going to walk it🤨
When is other camping video i am in Goldsboro
@@Gman4243 soon I hope
