Thank you for the detailed review of the Up Down All Around book. I was so impressed that I immediately went to the link for it and order a copy. I really enjoy your videos.
So what makes this better than my well loved volumes of Barbara Walker? It looks like a great book, but do I need this if I have the full set of Walkers?
Hi Kathleen, Oh! You are so fortunate to have all of those books! What I like most about the book I mentioned is that it includes how to knit all of the stitch patterns in-the-round as well as knitted flat. Most knitting books only show stitch patterns worked flat. I hope that helps! 😀
@@nobleknits OK, that's a big difference! I do end up rewriting stitch patterns from Walker constantly. I'll put it on my list for my next bookstore trip, thanks!
I will definitely be checking these out - I've been building a pattern library (swatches of patterns in a scrapbook) as a practice exercise between projects. I never thought of being able to include things done in the round, but what a great idea!
NANCY, I had ordered the up-down all-around book on Amazon and that was 3 months ago and today I found out that the book I ordered was canceled by the 3rd party only a few days after I ordered it and now I can't seem to find any book store or yarn store who is selling it and if they are they are selling the ebook / Kendel/ nook type thing I don't have those and the ones I found on Amazon the second-hand hardcover book they are selling them for 70 - 151 I couldn't believe that someone was selling a used book for almost 4 times the price I was going to pay for the one I ordered I have looked everywhere I could to buy it and have come to the point I need help I was counting on that book to show potential clients the different patterns that I would be able to use for their projects so I was hoping that you could guide me to where I could get a hardcover copy of the UP, Down book I pray you can help me solve this awful problem so I can get working on things so I can make money at something I love to do any and all info would be most helpful thanks barns and noble only had noom version not hard cover
Here it is new on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/384738767556?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1vv1LBGJrTy2j55nZAYiR_Q69&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=384738767556&targetid=1599090335177&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=9031550&poi=&campaignid=15275224983&mkgroupid=131097072938&rlsatarget=pla-1599090335177&abcId=9300697&merchantid=118856961&gclid=Cj0KCQiA09eQBhCxARIsAAYRiykkTTYjwNpiESR3h3eW4lZ_AVC2qOrQsM0IE8j5HetAcNcjPWZue84aAjdAEALw_wcB
Just in case you're still looking for that stitch dictionary from Wendy Bernard, she has a "new" book called The ultimate all-around stitch dictionary which apparently combines the content of both of those books.
If you use a different size needles and thicker or thinner yarn, the stitch pattern will be different looking. A lace pattern done in worsted or almost worsted weight will look good and be a ribbing substitute in some cases.

Ooh, those books look great. I like that there are actual color photos of the swatches. I can see why this is a must have for the knitting library.
Color work in the round? Terrific. But I don’t buy from Amazon. Going to Barns and Noble.
How can I buy the books that you just showed on your show.
Hi Raquel, I just added links to purchase the hardcover versions on Barnes & Noble.

That's a great idea, Lark! Yes, knit in-the-round stitch patterns are an amazing idea, don't you think? 😀

Hi Nancy, I happen to love all things Vogue, but I'll definitely have a look at this one!
Is it too early to start a Christmas list?
Never! Start that list, Nana! 😉
It’s Christmas every day . Better start now!
