I love Knitting for Men. It starts with cautions about knitting for those who may not be worthy of your labors. All the patterns are for any size and any gauge-brilliant!
Thank you! I did knit it :) The pattern is available on Etsy here: tidd.ly/3nIIUM9. It's knit with super bulky yarn, so it knits up pretty quick for a sweater. ❤
Thank you! It's one of my favorite sweaters. I do have a pattern written, but it's not size inclusive, yet. I'm taking a grading class in January and I'm super excited to start releasing my sweater patterns. :)
Thank you Bromfield for this valuable video. I was totally confused about buying a better book which has it all from sweaters to baby knits to elderly cardigans, patterns etc. It is really helpful.
Hi Jennifer! I just discovered you when I needed to make some fingerless mitts for my sister. Loved that thumb gusset video! I've also just made the Wisdom hat. These are great books. I'm familiar with several. I love books! I have The Principles of Knitting by June Hemmons Hiatt. Also The Handknitter's Handbook by Montse Stanley. Those are my "older" books. I also think you might enjoy The Knitter's Palette for ideas about color . I do have a tip - browse your local library for knitting books. You can check them out and see if you like them before you buy. Thanks again for your videos!
Beautiful books, indeed; I have Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible and another one: "280 Japanese lace stitches" by Nihon Vogue and I just started Japanese embroidery style Sashiko
Love your Sweater, did you knit it? I would love the details to get the pattern if it's at all possible. Thank you for your showing me your book selecyon/recommendations. Take care.

I have the same vintage Readers Digest book - I haven't referenced it in years but I know it's there. I get my inspiration these days from knitting videos such as yours and the 'younger' generation who podcast and vlog. I'm a more visual learner so really enjoy seeing how things are done ie youtube rather than print. I enjoyed your video - thank you. The Japanese Stitch Bible looks exquisite but way beyond me :)
@@Bromefields because I made it up. I call myself The Watcher in the Woods. Because I live in the pine woods, am retired and observe. You learn a lot by observing.
I have several knitting books. But two of them I have I got to do one single pattern from each book. Most of my books are vintage, but I do own an antique book from the early 1900's.
Thank you so much for this. I have not learned to knit from a chart yet. I love love books! They work when the power is out and when you just want to unplug. Great ideas for presents for others and my own wish list 🌟❄️❄️❄️🎁♥️ in the Vintage books, the two without dust coves: Please list the full name.
Hi Anna, I love books too... especially when I want to unplug. Great question! Here's the details + I added it to the description too: Good Housekeeping Complete Book of Needlecraft - Vera P. Guild - Copyright 1959, 1971 ISBN 0-87851-002-8. The Complete Book of Knitting Abbey Viking - Copyright 1971 SBN 670-23399-4. The Complete Guide to Needlework - Copyright 1979 - ISBN 0-89577-059-8

Thanks for sharing! The one and only book I have is called The Knitting Book of Knowledge by Debbie Bliss. It’s a big, hard cover book.
You are not the only one that loves vintage knitting books.
Hello friend! 👋
Your sweater looks nice. I think I recognize the yarn..😊
Great timing. I only have 2 so far but growing my collection. Thank you so much!
You're very welcome! I just found a couple more books I want to add to my collection. It might have become a small addiction. :)
Like the sweater you are wearing. Do you have a pattern for it? Thank you for sharing your suggestions on books.

Yeah, I hear ya. I never thought I'd enjoy RUclips so much, but I love it! I agree with you on the Japanese Stitch Bible too! :)
I love Vintage Books. Having only one book is like making soup with one pea.
I had never heard that saying. I love it!

Early 1900's?! That's fantastic!
Thank you. I have been wanting some stitch books, so this is very helpful!
You're very welcome!
What yarn is your gorgeous sweater!
Aw, thank you! The yarn is Lion Brand Thick & Quick: shrsl.com/3sb45 ❤
