@@colmanconnollymusic Wow. 15! Love your work on this. Saw your “backyard birthday party” (???) one as the first thing I ever saw from you guys, and I was hooked. Couldn’t believe how good it was!
Excellent band, I just stumbled upon them on RUclips a few weeks ago! I’m into vocals and Colman is amazing, the girl is really good too. I love that they play my favorite stuff from when I was growing up. The songs they play are often complex and they always nail it! Can’t wait to hear some OG music from them. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
My wife asked me the other day why I like covers and groups like these young "Low Darts". I told her it's the talent and desire they bring to the songs. I know it takes a lot of work to reproduce a song, but that is how you learn music. I wish I had access to record my early days of learning piano and singing in a choir. I admire their skills, and their willingness to put it out for everyone to enjoy. - Jeff keep up with introducing us to new groups.
These young people brought a smile to my face this morning when I sat down with my coffee to see Jeff's latest videos. This is what young folks should be doing, creating beauty like this! Bravo! Well done Low Darts!
Love these kids. Every singe one of them plays their parts spot on. They also take the time and are aware of their sound. So much fun and surprise listening and watching them.
These guys are f'ing amazing Wow, never expected this. You don't hear too many covers of Supertramp songs because their sound is so unique. But Low Darts nailed it. I particularly loved all the added guitar solos that we rarely heard from Supertramp. Gotta see more of them. thanks Jeff for exposing us to these young groups - it's so encouraging, because we've been told for years that rock is dead.
Proof that there is hope for the current generation. Their talents are top shelf, as is their attention to detail. Their live performances are amazing.
I've been following the Low Darts for about 2 years now. Phenomenal Group! They just dropped a New One by Totto "Rosanna" Their Best Yet!! Also recommend, "My Old School" and "Black Cow". Worth every minute!! Thanks to whomever sent this in.
Wow, these kids can play! Bass player has the ghost notes down, singer has some seriously surprising pipes, guitar player had those reverse bends down, keyboard player is smooth...So great to see young folks actually PLAYING instruments with some skill and feeling! These kids are on my watch list now! Thanks for the heads-up, Jeff! Have you seen "Leave Those Kids Alone" band yet? They're pretty awesome as well...
Thanks Amir for the suggestion about Leave Those Kids Alone band. I just watched a few of their videos and they're awesome as well. So great to hear these kids play "my/our" music!
Proof that the pop music of today is not satisfying the kids' intellects. They need to reach back for something that challenges them. Great musicianship here - now they need to be encouraged to start composing.
I perused their Facebook page and it appears the lead singer writes and is performing his songs locally. Maybe they'll show up on the RUclips channel eventually.
Crime of the Century my all time favorite LP. Needless to say Supertramp was made up of five consumate musicians and these kids nailed it and put a little of their own spin on it.
Great reaction, Jeff. I enjoy you adding stories and insights from your professional experience. One remark on this video. It looks like the red guitar has 7 strings. I'd never seen that before, not being a musician. I was going to ask about it, but I searched and found they are for extended range. My question: would they be easily played by a regular guitar player, or would it take some practice? In reference to Low Darts, I think this was one of their earlier videos when they were all (or approximately all) high scool age. They just (a few weeks ago) added a video of "Rosanna". They are now all (or approximately all) of college age and they seem to have improved a whole lot. Their Facebook page shows they've been doing a lot of live performances around their area.
I’m suggesting Al Stewart /with , the year of the cat album. So much goodness for the group Low Darts. How do we suggest and make that happen? Your thoughts and ideas would be appreciated!. Ringo to ya!!!
I’ve listened to beau coup cuts by the Low Darts. In one of them the guitar player is wearing a “Berklee” T-shirt. If that’s THE Berklee then these kids are chosen.
For what this is worth here are some observations about the Low Darts. Gifted talent. Work from written music. Part players not jammers. Benefit from a detailed orchestrator; each musician has a part. Can draw from a talent pool of complementary musicians to add horns and complexity of arrangements. Not originators although clearly Lindau at alia has chops that go beyond original bass lines (haven’t heard him do any slap bass). They are all classically trained and likely have big band experience. The drummer’s accents are perfectly orchestrated to the musical characteristics and suggest a unified rhythm section. The two keyboards are split between a soloist and rhythm part. Almost like the old guitar splits. Obviously the two lead singers (male and female) have serious range and chops. These two come the closest to pickup type artist who are gifted listeners but I still say they are school trained. Lastly, I think Berklee rather than ,say,Juilliard, because of style and execution. Juilliard products are almost exclusively Jazz and Broadway and Marsalis heads that department which tends towards extemporization and contemporary expositions. There are two other groups out there that are worthy of comparisons to the Low Darts. One is Eastern European, Leonid and Friends; the other is a group of musicians organized around Josh Turner “guitar” not the country artist of that same name. He has several touring groups that include a variety of talented selfmades although Turner is quite obviously trained and schooled in the entire array of compositional music. Both of these groups are extremely talented at recreating hit tunes no matter the complexity. They are not solely “tribute”bands but they both have those qualities. Leonid is the bass player and orchestrator and Josh is likewise. They have the same “wow” factor as the Low Darts. Take a listen.
Thanks for reacting to our video! :) - Colman
At the time, I was 15
Hey Colman, I look forward to more! 👏👏👏

For such a large ensemble to play this tight is impressive at any age. Quality.

My all time favourite band Supertramp, it’s just wonderful to hear these guys doing them justice and with such respect and talent. Love it! 😊👍

Смотрю на этих ребят и поражаюсь их талантом, у них большое будущее! Многие знаменитые группы начинали с каверов. Low darts это круто!
Sweet. Great musicians and awesome vocals. Enjoyed this!!
Wow! They’re great!
Thanks for introducing the group, they are new to me! Great stuff, found a great version of Angel from Montgomery on their channel.

so well played.
IMO, access to RUclips and the Internet has given us some amazing young artists the last few years.

👏👏👏🙌
Not many folks try Supertramp, this is a great cover! They got the feel down to a T. The guy on the keys is burning them.

Berklee may have influenced this group. There’s a ton of training and education in this group.

Just curious do you own a six string bass?
Yessir. It’s the one right above my head on the back wall.
