Spider-Man 3 nailed his sad story and the emotional impact and reason for him to turn to crime, and spider man 2 had a fire boss fight/tutorial featuring this man!

The Ultimate Spider-Man animated series version is underrated. That version of him gets trapped on an island, goes crazy from the loneliness, and creates different living sand constructs to play with. And like the comics, he turns good and becomes an alley of Spider-Man. He even at one point wore the terrible costume you talked about.
Even when product is bad, Sandman is still adapted good. Indeed many "writers" don't want fun in their comics (or in their games/movies) or even good writing.
Sandman is a pretty consistently adapted character and hes a pretty simple person with a lot of nuance to his character to not screw up when writing him. Im really glad the character has gotten the treatment he deserves as hes certainly one of the more three-dimensional villains with pretty OP powers when you think about it
Spectacular Spider-man and spider-man 3's incarnation of sandman really hammers home the idea that money and the wealth inequality it creates is what turns desperate workers into criminals.
He's just so consistently good and I think that has everything to do with how fun of a character he must be to write. He's also pretty freaking easy to understand to
I think the reason Raimi retconned Marko to be Ben's killer because it sticks with the trilogy's theme of the villains having a deep personal connection to Peter Parker. Not that it's necessary but it's consistent.
I think in the case of Spider-Man 3, they could’ve implemented him better by simply reducing his role. Having him compete for screen time with two more popular villains did him a huge disservice. If they stuck to keeping him as merely a side villain instead of trying to tie him into the main story it would’ve flowed a lot better I feel. They could’ve had him be some random run of the mill crook who Spider-Man put away and escapes, gets powers, and wants to find money to help his daughter. You could still depict him as sympathetic but instead of being tied to Peter’s past he could just be someone that Peter fights in between the bigger story events as a subplot. I think making him Uncle Ben’s killer was a terrible retcon but if they wanted to make him the getaway driver, they could’ve made it so that he got arrested or otherwise held up before the robbery thus making the killer have to steal Uncle Ben’s car. Peter in his grief could’ve taken this in the way of him being indirectly responsible but still needing an outlet for his rage.
It would’ve been cool if we got a rematch against Sandman in MSM2, as like a reward for doing all the Marko Memories. Changing the tutorial boss into an actual boss fight.
Screw Avi Arad and Sony because Flint Marko could have gotten more story and other stuff but hey, It's not Sam Raimi's fault because I do obviously think Thomas Hayden Church is great casting for Sandman, Overall, Fantastic video.

I usded to play a spiderman game called ultimate spiderman total mayhem, i really think you should do a video about the game. It was my favorite childhood game and i played it everyday as a kid. Before i had an xbox this was my go to game on my i pad as the game was only on mobile devices and made by gameloft. They discontinued the game a while back but i dont know if its just nostalgia or what but i remember loving this game and its adaptations of the spiderman charecters with a loaded cast of villans showing up throughout the games story and plot. Anyway i would love to see a video of you covering this game wheather its a whole video or just a small mention in a video about spiderman video game adaptations or something

Do people joke about it because "He shocks people, so he's the Shocker"??? That's like the only regulaur reason I would understand that. It's like "Oh, he murders so he's a murderer, so bland". Honestly would've loved seeing him in a Marvel vs Capcom game, the moveset would be wild. Sadly that series is pretty much dead thanks to Disney, well at least someone might mod him into mvc3 if they see the trouble worth it.
