This is genuinely one of the best sounding synths I've heard, and I'm someone who is generally "over" the usual 303 sounds. This thing is glorious, though. What a clangorous delight!
Hands down, best demo I've seen so far of the TD3-MO. Most demo's don't really showcase the mods to their full potential and I think you did a great job at that. Mine is coming next week, so really looking forward to it!
I honestly haven’t seen many TD-3 or TD-3MO demos where the user is actually doing more than programming notes and tweaking knobs. These boxes sound so good, most users are just content with it at that point and never dive any deeper. I’ve seen very few using any of the patch points or the random sequence generator. I use those 2 features constantly on my TD-3.
I was on the fence about pulling the trigger on one of these once they are available again... this video has absolutely sold me getting one! Great sounds bro!!!

That moment when you genuinely feel the joy he's having with the sounds! Somehow I feel the Tryptych (!) / & Modular Fx-extension take on a big role in this demo but that is certainly not a bad thing... Killer material in the right hands! X
I have just bought one of these tonight and I have all those eurorack toys he is using with it, I am literally clenching my butt cheeks together for 3 weeks until it arrives!
Yeah the filter FM is definitely a killer feature, even on the non-MO version. The OG TD-3 can be found second hand for under $100 USD and can produce a lot of similar sounds to the MO version.
I got one, and it's taking a little while to learn what all those mods do, and now I'm starting to feel the love. It is kind of subtle then kind of aggressive. I think Berhinger should mod out every single new piece of gear they manufacture from now on . just put built in circuit bending points and triggers and cv patch points . charge more money I don't care just up the game like they did on this one
Berhinger does clones. The devilfish mod was a classic mod for the original 303 so they reproduced it for their TD3 they won't do modded versions of other gear because there aren't famous mods for them to copy
nice one! got it on preorder. waiting for stock. 1 or 2 weeks. super hyped. the lack of filter-in cv on the td-3 was a really weird choice by Behringer.. this makes up for all of that.
hahahaha i love the "f*ck" at the end....just bought one of these monsters and in my mind i was thinking the same "f*ck" to see what is possible.... thanks Blush
This is an instant buy. 250 dollars is a steal for what used to cost thousands for a worn out second hand one. The market for "real" 303s must be tanking. What would you want one for?
Surprisingly its quite the opposite, the real ones are a rarity, which will always increase in value as they become more rare. The x0xb0x has been an authentic clone for over 10 years and it didn't even dent the price of real 303s
The prices for the original TB-303s are increasing constantly. I saw the price went from $2k to over $3k despite the release of Roland's own ACB clones, the Avalon, the RE-303 and the Behringer. I guess that there are so many clones have been released with the marketing around them was adding to the cult status. I guess some think that you only get street creds an acid producer, when you have the original. I have a few different TB-303 clones and VSTs, because I make almost exclusively Acid music. Sometimes I feel that I should have the original, but then the responsible me is telling me that it is insane to spend s much money on the original when my clones do the job just fine. Those, who buy the TB-303 now, are probably either rich and/or speculate in hopes of further price increases.
My Black Edition of this arrives today, along with the Behringer Toro, and I can't wait to play with it, especially through my MXR Distortion pedal. I do have a TB-303 (Kenton mods only) and MC-202 (Kenton mods only) for my acid needs, but as I'm not prepared to shell out for a Devilfish, or send my 303 off to Oz for the mod, I thought the TD-3 MO would be a fun addition. This video was what convinced me to go for it. Great work.
sounds like theres a wild angry beast in the studio and its out of controll - love it after watching the whole vid, i feel like i got an infected bite from this evil mashine 😈😵
Been waiting a while for these, held off on buying the normal TD3. Glad I did now, just managed to find some in stock and placed my order, wasn't expecting to be able to but hey a pleasant surprise. Great demo, cant wait to my hands on mine. This demo defo sealed the deal.
Question, I'm a bit confused with the tune knob. I've noticed that at 12 o clock it sounds right on key. I see you increased it around 8:06 , doesn't that make the synth out of key?
Sounds amazing, but How much of this is EXTERNAL processing though? For example at 1:22+ - You mention an external processor that gives the overdrive sound, which basically Transforms EVERYTHING! .. But you say it so quickly, i can't make out what it is you're saying...... Could you add to the description a list of ALL the external FX you're putting the MO through and what HW or software it is that does it..
He is using the Mimeophon for delay and a little reverb, the Triptych comb filter with distortion along with the DPO oscillator to audio rate modulate the filter CV of the TD3 MO
