@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo im going towards the xr5, there is such an enormous modding community behind it, its super encouraging, and i love the idea of the slightly more dramatic driving experience and the looks really get to me
Awesome! I have a video of my old XR5 on this channel too, if you're interested and there is also a video of my mate, Jason's, XR5 too. You'll have a blast with it mate.
At the time Ford only had the XR5, granted the RS would come to Australia in 2010, but that feels a bit unfair, plus they share quite a few components, so yeah they were direct rivals.
I've always had a soft spot for these. The Fiesta ST (XR5 grrr. Shit name Ford Australia) is nice but the torque steer and the front end constantly scrambling for grip spoils it imo.
Once you put an LSD in the XR5, it helps a lot, but yes you definitely feel the torque being moved around a lot. Once again, I think it adds to the character, but can appreciate it would be annoying for some. Thanks for watching :)
Thanks mate! Some was on "Darling Causeway" In Mount Victoria, but the really leafy areas were "Mount Wilson Road" Mount Wilson. The intro scenes were shot at the end of "Waterfall Road" in Mount Wilson. Can definitely recommend checking it out. In autumn that whole green over hanging area turns red which looks amazing, but it gets jam packed, to the point that you just roll through at 5km/h and cars are parked down the entire road, it's insane.
Just a heads up, parts of Mount Wilson Road are a bit rough, nothing crazy, but there are a few bumps one after the other that definitely make you wince.
I think the problem was that they came pretty highly strung from factory, so there wasn't a lot of room to get more out of them, especially if it was done by someone who didn't really know what they were doing. In comparison, the XR5 was really under stressed, so had a lot more room to move.
Fantastic video dave, im looking into both of those cars and you've really helped me decide!
Thanks very much mate! Which way are you leaning? The XR5 was an absolute blast to own. I'm sure the MPS would be awesome as well.

Oh my god ive already seen both of the vids! I didnt realise those 2 vids were yours, thats awsome that i came across this after watching those 2 haha
Small world hey :)
Direct rivals? The mps is quite a bit more powerful than the xr5.

Pretty sure the XR5 is fairly restricted, they make a lot of power once modded
Love this video, very informative!
Thanks very much mate!
Lovely little showcase mate and what's the opening track used in the video?
Thanks mate! It's "Dark Matter by Chasms". Pretty sure it is available from the free music library within RUclips.
Love these 😍🔥 always wanted to show car one and air ride it here in the UK
Would be pretty awesome! Thanks for watching mate 😊

@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo hahaha ok I'll keep that in mind 🤙
Será uma boa aposta? Mazda Mps
How i can make that sound fffsss between gears
Blow off valve is going to be the easiest way
That music, were you trying to put us to sleep .
haha sorry mate! RUclips's copyright free music library is pretty ordinary!
The interior in that Mazda...my gosh lol
Was it really a cat's eye tho
haha! I promise it was .... but was it?
Comparing it to an rs seems a bit more realistic
I think the RS was easily a cut above the MPS, especially as the MPS was positioned as a direct competitor to the XR5.
@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo rs focus has to stage it's boost when in it's maximum torque range so No2 cylinder doesn't throw a rod.
Always heard these care had motor issues, so I gravitated away from them.

You make me want to fall asleep
Sigh...Kilowatts. Once I hear Kw I'm out.
Sorry to hear mate! Thanks for watching that far
