Fully agree about the way to approach Trills. START playing WITHOUT the trills and get used to the phrasing and actual notes BEFORE adding the trills. Not only do you hear the FOUNDATION of the notation better, but your brain synchs better with notation. After you've played the "stripped" phrasing several times, THEN add the Trills. This method will work so much better than trying to "wing" everything at once. Also, SLOW is always a virtue -- allowing you to hear yourself better and to articulate everything more effectively.
it might not be a waste of time to work on optimizing the equipment (mouthpiece for the instrument and for the student) and on the basics for the piccolo, articulation, compression, handling, less air volume, etc. - I would like to see my opinion as a constructive suggestion.. good luck😊👋
Man, at first view, I was wondering how on earth were you both playing that written D with first valve. Then I looked at the part and it's trumpet in C and you have the A crook in. Now it's an F. Try keeping that all straight you string players!!!
“Oh my good lord”
I heard that in lessons years ago.😂
Nice to see her doing well.

Excellent stuff to hear! Especially actually realizing forcing v/s delicate on the piccolo. THAT is a had transition…for some of us
Love this video! Would love to see more picc content!

Did you sell your picc? :)
You play on your students instruments and mouthpieces…?
I thought it was normal 😂
I would NEVER play on anyone else's MP. I always have my own... ready to go.... and so should Ryan. In my book, there is no excuse whatsoever.
