A couple of months ago, I treated myself to the Anbernic RG353p. Anbernic actually saw that video, and sent me over their new RG353V! And hmm. I have some thoughts! So let’s check it out! On your boot sequence.
So, this is the RG353V. Currently, on Aliexpress it's selling for about 110 to 130$. But you have to be a little careful since there are actually 2 different models. The RG353V and VS. They differ quite a bit.
The one I have, the V model, well it's the higher-end one. It comes in 4 different colors, White, grey, transparent black and transparent purple. The VS version only comes in grey or transparent black.
Another difference is that the V model has dual OS, so you can boot it up on whatever version of linux that you want, or you can boot it on android. The VS model is exclusively Linux. We’ll get to why that matters a little later.

For what you are getting for the price, these devices are not too bad. Just sucks they are frowned upon due to copyright.
I wanted the RG351V when it released, for the nostalgic form factor and the 4:3 aspect ratio, but decided to wait for a slightly better chip and a second analog stick. This thing looks absolutely perfect, should be getting mine tomorrow, can't wait to start tinkering.

So the 353p and the 353v are the same? Just ergonomically different? I see that the 353v, it has more roms... While the 353p has less.

the best thing on aliexpress is x99 combos with old xeons. 6/12 cpu + 16 gb + mb under $100 is a steal imho

I recently bought an Anbernic rg552 I'm really pleased with it. One thing to keep in mind custom firmware's are available for most Anbernic devices, the hardware and build quality I have found is good but the software is a little rough around the edges stock. Jelos and AmberELEC are a lot better than the included Linux OS, there are also more polished versions of android available from Black-Seraph.
I got the transparent black one & I been loving it. IDK how to use the android part but I'll figure it out, till then there plenty of classics that look great on this screen to play OTG. Good battery life as well.
hey i know it's been 9 months, but if you still have it just removed the memory card (the top one) and it should reboot to android. just put it back in to go back to linux
I watched your video but I'm old. When people say "retro", to me that means was developed during the time period where I was hanging out the side of a Blackhawk.
To be honest, I had trouble adapting to Battlefield because it is realistic. Come to think of it. That may be what Russians receive as training. lol

Unfortunately no, you have to use the Mini HDMI port.
They sent you your for "free" so that's why the hdmi works.

@@BootSequence lol my point is they will obviously ship a reviewer a working product but because you did not buy it retail like everyone else, we cannot guarantee the others should also just work.
There should be a level of pessimism if you see such issues on the web even if your unit worked.
the shipped it to retro games corps for free. I tested it in 4 ways, plugged in before boot and after boot for both operating systems. It is true that with linux, it needs to be plugged in pre boot, and for android post boot. Might be why the others said it outright didnt work on an OS. I should have specified for the OS's. But it works!

And what I noticed also videos about them attract many viewers. I publish only videos about old devices and it's so challenging to have big audience... Still good and interesting video!
I'm 40 & to all have all these classic games on a portable is GOLD! Not having to pay the ridiculous prices it would have cost to get all the consoles & cartridges is PRICELESS!
