    Dr Dray! After I heard you talk about arctinic keratosis, I told my mother she should go to a derm to check out some patches on her face. She had thought they were just eczema but the derm said they were actually AK. She is going to get it treated. Thank you for providing such an important public service to the masses.

    I used a Buf Puf when it first came out and I started using again about a year and a half ago. It is not as abrasive as it sounds and I love it. I also used finely milled face scrubs. My mom used to use a terry cloth face rag when she cleansed and she had polished flawless skin. As such manual exfoliation has been a part of my routine for many years.

    Something I’ve always found interesting is that neither my mom (who is Asian), step-mom (who is white) and her mom(also white), both sets of grandparents never used sunscreen a day in their life and worked outdoors all their life, yet none of them never and don’t have a single brown spot, melasma, hyperpigmentation, etc. on their face or neck, nor do they have sun spots on their arms or hands. Yet, I have been using sunscreen for almost a decade and started getting melasma at 33y and I am an RN who works indoor all day. They’re only skin regime outside of dove soap is Ponds moisturizer. No serums, no eye creams, no retinol. I’m curious if this has anything to do with hormones in our foods or something else. Thanks for sharing, always enjoy your content as they’re always informative and meticulous! Happy Saturday ☺️

      I developed melasma after stopping my birth control for 7 months and then starting it again at age 30, and I just stopped again age 33, will not get back on it again, I got most of my melasma to go away with tca peels, and microneedling

    • @Annie_..
      @Annie_.. 2 года назад +1

      Jennifer Holley thanks for that info, I will look into tca peels and micro needling. I also heard that microdermabrasion is helpful but not sure if this is true. I took orthotricyclyn for a few years but stopped due to the way it made me feel, and that was in my late teens/early 20’s. My mom also used it for a few years (but it didn’t work bc I was born ☺️) and then she got off of it.

    • @jenniferholley2359
      @jenniferholley2359 2 года назад +1

      Microdermabrasion will make your skin super soft but all it does is take off the dead skin on top and melasma is deeper down, but you could do that as well as a peel, also azelaic acid and niacinamide work well for melasma

      @Annie_.. 2 года назад +1

I have ichthyosis vulgaris and keratosis pilaris, confirmed by your videos, so thank you so much. Wondered for years what the ichthyosis on my legs was! (And I'm no longer using HOT water and soap on my legs, just using a SOFT mesh exfoliating pouf on them, along with Aveeno Moisturizing Body Wash everywhere else and wow, it's made a huge difference!! So again, thank you!) About the BUF PUFs, I tried those as a teenager when they very first came out (while my Mom was big on Clinique!) and oh man, was it rough on my face! I had oily skin as a teenager and somehow thought scrubbing my face with one of those would get rid of all the oil and blackheads, but all that it did was irritate my skin! Loved the bird watching (I'm a nature photographer and one of my favorite subjects is the Great Blue Heron!) and the thrift shopping. Have a blessed weekend!

    I adore thrifting but stopped during the pandemic. I also downsized to a condo and have less room for treasures. When I was a little girl and even in high school thrift stores were not common or plentiful where I lived. The items that were there were extremely worn or loved. People used things until they were worn out. No one heard of self storage. Seems like it was in the 1990s when cheap "stuff" from overseas flooded our country and in the 2000s Thrift stores and goodwill became plentiful.I loved the green table at the thrift store.😊

    Hahhahahha I remember my derm recommended the Buff Puff when I was a young teen! I am not surprised that the idea came from buffing floors, it was soooo rough lol. My face was always so irritated and red!

    I’m 59 yo. I remember my mother using Noxema and Physoderm in the 60’s. My grandmother always used Ponds cold cream to take off her face powder and rouge every night. Those are the first skincare products I recall. Tfs

    Cormorants dive for their food in the water, but can't fly well with wet feathers, so you'll see them out and about with the wings spread out to dry them.

    I loved Buff Puff too. I think that is why my skin is pretty good still. Can find dupes but afraid to use them now, but I do indulge once in a while. Never liked Clinique. That horrid yellow cream! Yuk

    I was a patient of Dr. Norman Orentreich for many years….what a wonderful and kind man!…I have been using a buff puff for decades at his suggestion. I’m a 64 year old male and am routinely asked how do I keep my skin so smooth. He pioneered micro droplet silicone therapy as well. And omg the dermabrasion. As I remember he also was instrumental in the hair transplant technique…..it took almost a year to get an initial appointment! The buff puff if done gently and consistently….just works and is really inexpensive. I started retin A with him as well…he private labeled it….silver tubes with simple black and white label…very “medical’ looking….going to see him was like going to school! Great dermatologist …nice human!

    omg that is quite a thrift store our thrift stores in NE Omaha are not as nice as that :) not even close we all go to goodwills here that is the majority of what people go to for thrift stores and we don’t have as much nice stuff in ours as you do at that store

    I started using petrolatum on my eye lids and lips / lip creases at night time and I have seen a dramatic decrease in irritation on my chin and eyes. I even switched off of mint toothpaste. I am apart of the Dr Dray cult and proud 👏🏼🤣

    I have used a Buff Puff for 20 years. I use it instead of dermabrasion products. I like it because I can use any facewash with it. It was mentioned in a magazine article about Jane Seymour. She highly recommended it. Wonder if she still uses it? Thank you for making your highly informative and educational videos. I appreciate you so much…
