- Hello everyone! My name is Jake Carpenter. I was truly blessed to be an actor on the great and important show, A Different World. It was the highlight of my life. A Different World is one of my absolute favorite shows. It dealt with important issues and was simultaneously so entertaining. I wish there were more shows on the television like this today.
I was Rick in the episode of A Different World, "Cat's in the Cradle". It is the episode in which Ron and Dwayne encounter three white guys at a Hillman football game, Ron makes a bet (against Dwayne’s protestations), they all end up in a fight, go to campus jail, and are encouraged to work out their differences. I play the white guy with a conscience who apologizes to Dwayne and Ron in the jail cell.
I will never monetize this channel, sell any products, or have any affiliate links here. “I Love A Different World” is purely for the celebration and enjoyment of A Different World, a show that was so important to millions of people worldwide.
If the channel really takes off, I will see how else to add to the channel, such as seeing if some of cast members would be willing to be interviewed about the show and answer your questions. 😊 I hope so.

1 of the greatest shows of all time. Good laughs, substance, real life matters, showing people attempting to better themselves like any other person. Such greatness all around.

Debbie was gonna have Denise pregnant on the show but bill Cosby said no
I always wondered if season 2 would have been greater if Denise stayed on. I think she would have been a misfit with the new crew of season 2. On season 1, the comic relief came mainly from Whitley. I think they made the right choice by removing her.
Yes I saw Debbie do an interview talking about that. She said that she had a whole storyline planned out for Lisa's character cuz she was pregnant in real life and she was gonna write that into her storyline but of course Cosby wanted his "kids" to appear perfect so no way could she be a knocked up college student/teen mom smh.
@@mreynol1 well Lisa bonet and Cree summer were never on the show at the same time yet are the tightest ones in the cast so that might not entirely be true
@@betterthanemril988 Denise was boring and didn't offer anything funny. If she would've stayed on, she would've have to been demoted from lead to supporting cast. It was Whitley who brought the heat to the show.
@@mreynol1 how would you know? The WHOLE cast in season 1 beside Whitley was dry and the ones that went onto season 2 onward had gotten better because of Debbie Allen.
I like my men a little on the dumb side...lol!!!!
