Love how good a friend Whitley was in this episode.
And I'm beginning to see how Kim and Whitley became best friends in the final season.
I loved how creative they mentioned condoms without explicitly saying it. I saw a doc on the show and they said the network wouldn't let them say it on the show. Also, the tension with the LA riots behind the scenes and their choice and fight to show it on the series led to the end of the show. The network did not want it. Debbie Allen said they gave them what they wanted but didn't renew the show afterwards.
That's so messed up.

I was in junior high when this show debuted, and it ended at the end of freshman year of college. I enjoy watching this show so much because it holds up so well…30-odd years later. I have a son who’s getting ready to head off to college, and this show is part of our “pre-college orientation.”
And this is why Debbie Allen was so necessary for helping to make this show great cuz the 1st season was kinda boring. All of the characters started to develop more the 2nd season and beyond. Whitley 1st season was very surface imo, just annoying and bougie with no real redeemable qualities. 2nd season she became more human and likable and this episode shows it.
I agree. Once Lisa Bonet's character was gone, the other characters were able to do more than revolve around her. This gave the writers and Debbie Allen the ability to better use the cast as an ensemble instead of just supporting players. The show's content got so much better, too. It was refreshing to see a show take on serious topics and balance comedy with drama so well. I was too young to understand everything when this originally aired, but seeing it as an adult makes me admire the work the creators, cast, and crew did. A timeless show!

@@maribelarellano1275 let me better explain at the time of this film and Lisa Bonet with pregnant and Bill Cosby stated that Lisa Bonet is pregnant but Denise Huxtable is not pregnant so it was a direct blow to Lisa from bill with this episode
around this same time on the Cosby show, Sammy Davis Jr guest starred in an episode about an umarried pregnant teenager (Sammy played the girl's grandfather)
