- Time to get the stance right on this 1988 Foxbody. Looking at wheel offsets with the ROH Snypers I have laying around the shop. I also talk about the difference between the pre-91 fenders and the clearance differences.

White notches are the best…right😝👍🏻 just like my 1985 T-Top coupe with capri fenders project car👍🏻
Did I miss you giving the offset?
What was the final offset for the front and rear?
I'm not big on comment but I gotta say you are a wealth of knowledge. Remember the power block back in the day. I'm telling you. You could go right on there and kill it. I've learned so much from your videos
Appreciate the feedback. Thank you
Will a 18x95 et22 fit in front with your experience??pls let me know
I didn’t catch those offset measurements. You have those around somewhere?
JDM wheels are so much better looking and they have all kind of sizes.
What are the offsets never heard it
Do you run inner fenders on the front? With 255 40 17's (90 GT) slightly lowered I get rubbing on the inner at the lower arch section you pointed out.
Yes I do.. chances are your offset with the 255's is the problem. I am assuming you are on a 9" wheel in the front that probably has an offset that doesn't agree with your inner fender. Try stepping down to a 245/40 or maybe lower your car some more :P
Did you have to change the brake lines for the 5.0 swap?
For the rear yes.
@@TheInfamousProject ok thank you are they called the rear axel brake lines ? And where can I buy them lmr?
Would swear that was almost a Capri fender. Although I know the Capri has the flat edge at the top.
There is nothing that you dont now about mustangs, love your videos
Without question in my mind this is the best foxbody fitment video out there. Great job and much appreciated. Showing how ride height affects placement is invaluable and often missed. It also goes to show stretching which isn't often mentioned these days. Good stuff. Thanks.
VERY IMPORTANT SUBJECT!!!
Take NOTES people!!!!!
I'm in the market for wheels and this video came right on time! Thanks bro 💯🔥💪🏾
I have 275’s. I was hoping to put quad shocks back on there. Looks like I may be out of luck. My rears are 9” wide.
School is in session! I have learned so much technical aspects of working on my Fox, from watching your videos. Keep it up!
Appreciate the kind words. Thank you
I love those 5 spoke ROH ZR6 wheels. Maybe one day I’ll pick a set up. Luckily when my car was built (by a previous owner) they used a set of Borbet Type C’s.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Dawg, your wheel collection is compariable to that of a vintage, fine wine connoisseur with a huge wine cellar. The collection is deep, and hard to find. Good explaination of different options. Still need your opinion on the Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill wheels I bought for tire size... ;-)
Hahaha when you coming over for a beer
@@TheInfamousProjectwe are finally over that silly covid crap, so, anytime your busy schedule will permit!
thanks for the tips. the fender pulling is a good one!
Step Down, haha, that shit is funny! Snipers are old school favorites. I love 17’s on a fox
Looks good, nice looking wheel
Man love the collection
The lower the better in my opinion!!
Agreed!
Great educational video for tire fitment! Like your technique in figuring out what offset will work. Also, pointing out the fender stretch in the front was great. I never would have thought about doing that or looking for it. 💯👊🏾
Appreciate that sir. Thank you
My understanding of the larger front wheel well opening on 91-93 was for turning. As you make a turn the outside edge of the tire travels thru an arc and add in more negative camber and some more caster you cause this arc to change some and will cause rubbing issues in pre-91 cars. When I was autocrossing my 88 I had just this issue, not a big problem but still happened. Now on my 92 notch that issue is all but gone on the front. I am running 255 40 17 all around.
Great video thank you!💪
Great video. Please do not follow the other fox body creators and change your format as you gain subscribers. This is the most informative channel on RUclips.
Probably my favorite comment!
Sold my 9.5 zr6 roh 17".
I sold mine. 2000$
Hi Chris, do you know of a quad shock that will fit with a 10.5” wide wheel? I’m running into an issue with the stock shock inverted. I thought I heard somewhere that the Bilstein body may be narrower? Just wondering if you’ve found anything along the way? Thanks 👍🏻
Bilstein is definitely a good option but it really depends on the offset of your wheel.
@@TheInfamousProject I’ll have to check. Lmr 17” ponies. I know, I know! 😂
@@krisf5247 lol! I do have a set of bilsteins here I can measure if needed
@@TheInfamousProject stock shock tube diameter looks to be 1 9/16”. Are you able to measure the bilstein next time you have a chance? Thanks a million buddy
I wanted to lower my 90 foxbody so I followed Brew2l approach of cutting the springs front & rear and the car sits nice low now but the ride quality went right out the window. So now I'm trying to find the best lowering springs & shocks with decent ride quality.
Did you upgrade your struts and shocks after you cut the springs?
@@TheInfamousProject The guy I bought the car from said they where recent. I looked at them and they appear to be some cheap no name brand. Which do you run on your cars?
@@TallStarlite anything but KYB. Koni, Bilstein etc... Make sure you run quads in the rear if you can
@@TheInfamousProject I agree with Chris’s recommendations. I use a similar set-up. Rear: Coil springs with matching adjustable shocks, and adjustable ride height lower control arms. I also use a quality pan-hard bar kit which makes a huge difference in feel and handling. If you like to ride low like Chris always (as Chris said) make sure to verify your rear axle bump stop and pinion snubber clearance. I see too many lowered cars making contact on one or all three snubber locations, and thats not good for ride or safe handling. Front: A good quality coil-over and matching spring and shock rate pkg, and camber / caster kit. In my case I used all adjustable Koni shocks and matching front and rear spring pkg rates as it’s important that both front and rear systems complement each other. Then tie this all together with front upper and lower chassis support braces and full length weld-in subframe connectors with seat mount supports to help get the feel of things and improve your floor pan seat mount support. If it’s all installed and adjusted correctly you get a good ride with excellent handling and adjustability for track or street. Plus you improve the overall long term chassis durability and longevity.
