Things get downright philosophical as Thomas Mars and Laurent Brancowitz of the Versailles-based band, Phoenix sit down with Jian to talk about their pursuit of the unattainable in their art, and what constitutes a successful tour ritual.

and this is such a good interview because jian asks really thoughtful questions, questions that go beyond the fame and sold out shows, but more about musicality and composition. you just don't get to hear that side as much.

I've been following these guys since the end of Alphabetical, around 2005, and it's been so awesome to watch them grow and see how their music has evolved over the years since United. I'm so glad they've put so much into this new album, it's definitely worth the wait with these guys. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix was almost perfection, such a timeless album. I think my favourite is still It's Never Been Like That, but can't wait to hear Bankrupt! Deluxe CD coming in the mail this week!

I'd buy that book abd raise all my offspring on those ideas and the fascination of how they compose their sentances as images as they express themselves. WE NEED A PUBLISHING DEAL
