Christians in Jerusalem mark Good Friday with procession through Old City

Despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Christians marked Good Friday in Jerusalem. Worshippers marched slowly along the Via Dolorosa - the cobblestone path that cuts through the limestone-walled Old City, where tradition says Jesus bore the cross to his crucifixion. #goodfriday #jerusalem #oldcity #news

Some people often fail to recognize that there is a sizeable Christian community in the Middle East. Christian Arabs, Egyptians, etc., In the Catholic Church, they are the "Eastern Rites" in communion with Rome.
