- WE MADE FROM AN OLD CAR RIM A COOL WORKING BBQ😁.
EXTRA INFO: WE SANDBLASTED THE RIM FIRST TO GET IT COMPLETELY CLEAN. FOR THIS PROJECT WE DIT NOT USE SILICON CAULK, BUT THERMO REFRACTORY ADHESIVE WHICH IS PROPER FOR THIS KIND OF PROJECT AND IT BECOMES SOLID LIKE A ROCK. WE USED ALSO A HEAT-RESISTANT PAINT, ESPECIALLY USED FOR PAINTING BBQ'S AND OVENS. (NO TOXIC MATERIALS).

i cant find Thermo refractory adhesive in my cowntry...damm!! brazil....we don't have access to anything that is good
...
I wish I lived in the United States...lol
You forgot to remove the rubber valvestem though 🤦
I was looking at a old rim and thought I’m sure RUclips has a diy video to make the rim into a grill & here we are
You are a genius
Thanks Anthony😁
That is so nice when famaily come to make a lime outside👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😋😋😋😂😂😂
Sensacional, está de parabéns , ótimo trabalho 👏👏👏
Muito obrigado!!! Ficamos felizes que vc gostou :)
I just built on my channel a Tail Gating Grill. I love to weld as a hobby and wish more people would try it. Awesome video and I am going to the tire shop to find my wheel for my build.
Hi Jorge, great build! I love to weld, only start to do it more 😀
@@WeekendBuilders I like your channels name, mine should be Monthly Builder since I hardly have time lol. It's a hobby of mine to weld and learn and it's been fun. I have a coworker bringing me some old grills to rebuild them so hopefully that goes well. I'm looking for some rims this week.
la verdad son geniales las ideas publicas 👍👀👏
Gracias 🙏
Great looking BBQ guys! I really like the mat black and wood look, turned out really nice! Also that jig you used to cut that round piece of metal was really cool!
Thanks Zac👍. That was the first time we used my brother's plasma cutter. We will probably make something cool with it soon🔥
Great idea great setup the only thing I would have done more is put more airflow so charcoal Burns a little bit better and how do you clean out the ashes other than flipping it over? But other than that loved it thanks for the video
We had no problems with the air circulation, you can remove the rim and the tube very easily from the frame to clean the bbq👍
Ficou excelente! parabens! awesome! GSB - God save BBQ
Obrigado Fabrizio Albertini😁
Very nice 😀👌
Bem criativo parabéns 👏👏👏
Muito obrigado. Foi divertido de fazer😃
Vet idee!
Thanks Menno!!!
Very cool! I was just wondering if you are using some kind of safe die to paint it, so it doesn't release any toxic fumes while grilling food? if yes, could you share info where to buy it? Thank you :)

@@WeekendBuilders Thank you :)
Interesting idea! What kind of cocking is that?
Thanks😁 We put a link to all our links in the description, but it is this www.amazon.com/high-temperature-caulk/s?k=high+temperature+caulk&tag=wec71-20
One word for you... Genius!!
I was looking for barbeque grill making techniques today & I came across your video. Your mechanical and technical skills are superb!
I want to make this similar type of grill. In case required, Will you help me please.
Thanks

What's the size of the grill grates?
how you discard the wood ash?
Like and subscribed 👏👏👏
Thanks😉
I’m never going to do this, but I really enjoyed watching.
Great thanks😁. We hope you like our other video's too😉
What were you using in that caulking gun?
It's "High Temperature Caulk Black" after you put this on it's becomes as hard a rock, really nice to work with. Hereby the Amazon link 👉 amzn.to/34fdTkO
@@WeekendBuilders that will burn away after 2 or 3 burns
What did u use in the cocking gun?
It's a high-temperature caulk that hardens like a rock when it's cured.
Brother
What is that glue one you paste..
it's kind of a high Temp BBQ Sealer, if you search that you will find it.
How do you get the ashes out?
We made it so you can loosen the rim with an allen wrench and then you can turn it over in the trash.
Exactly what I was thinking! I love the grill but how are you going to clean it out and how easy is it to do that?
tell me please, and how do you then get the ash?
You can very easily loosen the rim and empty it above the trash.
Jajajajajajaja trabajando de más....
Muito legal
Obrigado 🙏
how do you empty out the ash that falls into the rim?
You can remove the leg of the rim from the base and throw it empty in the trash👍
You need a trap door/slider door on the bottom of the wheel to get rid of the ashes, otherwise it's very difficult to remove them. I've made and sold many of these.
BTW you just need a welder and NO ADHESIVE LOL
Only if I had the tools to do this 😢
Do you have a video to make that stainless grill.
We bought these.
@@WeekendBuilders ៤
Why did you covert he bottom and block any air flow to the coals
Otherwise all the ash from the barbecue will fall through the holes, you can detach the pillar from the base to empty it in the trash.
How do you dump the ash?
You can easily loosen the rim that is attached to the pole together and tilt the rim to remove the ash.
why don't you. welding of the iron surface? instead of using silicone. tire tube in the rim too, you didn't throw it away
Well this rim looked like a steel rim at first and we found out later that it was an aluminum rim. So we had to make the bbq in a different way😅
My brain:wow so clever
My heart:thts unhelty for me
My tonque:GiVe mE sTeAk
We are curious what your brain, heart and tongue say about our just uploaded project video?😋
@@WeekendBuilders ask my tonque😂😆
@@WeekendBuilders you write tongue not tonque well sry im not english at least my tongue is not english 😂

What’s the name of the silicone think u

What glue?
Something like this heat-resistant caulk, see link: amzn.to/2Q9eIpS
gracias
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Como le sacas la ceniza
You can very easily loosen the rim and empty it above the trash.
What rim size?
16inch
Do you sell already built?
We sell some of our projects.
I want to buy one like the one on the video but a large rim.
@@carmenmguzman2557 We make these projects purely for our RUclips channel 😉
One word lead
Anyone know the base he used for the pipe
Hi, those are single scaffold tubes amzn.to/3b8I3tR
@@WeekendBuilders thank you d
So much 😊
I thought you can only make fire pit out of rim cause of the poison that can be released from the aluminum in them
No RUclips : CHURRASQUEIRA BALOBRAS , 1 , 2 e 3 .

My Ducati’s old BST CF rims didn’t work!
it's a shame😁
You can also just order a round plate somewhere :-)
The idea is good but that BBQ grille have to be super heavy.
Yes, you can remove the rim to clean it.
You left the rubber valve stem in the rim.
You have good eyes, see it now also haha
@@WeekendBuilders I however did enjoy the video and looking to build one myself

Thermo refractory adhesive which is proper for this kind of project and it becomes solid like a rock!
@@WeekendBuilders thanks for the answer :)

You can remove the rim from the base and throw it empty in the trash.
You will get better. Keep trying.
Thanks Bro, we keep trying😁

Why would anyone use poxy or paint inside the grilling area, all that crap is going into the food when fumes are released with the heat. Grill looks nice 👌 but paint should have been just for exterior use
Thanks we really like the design also. We sandblasted the rim first to get it completely clean. End of the video is not perfect
Weber smokey joe $30 US dollars at Home Depot comes with ash collector and oxygen air control and a cover to seal the juices ! Just saying
That's a good deal but we like to make our own bbq's😀
Cheap metal from Home Depot
Raul M it’s a weber brand good long lasting metal sold at Home Depot not made by Home Depot
You have a good set of eyes 👀. This one we had forgotten about ourselves indeed haha😅
@@WeekendBuilders This work is really very well done.👍 Just one more question. Why did you glue it and not weld it and what kind of glue is that that has to be able to withstand heat.
@@thunderbuffalo7230 The first idea was to weld it, but on the day we were going to make it the rim was aluminum after all. Also was already completely sandblasted so we made it this way.
For this project we DID NOT use silicon caulk, but Thermo refractory adhesive which is proper for this kind of project and it becomes solid like a rock. We used also a heat-resistant paint, especially used for painting BBQ and ovens. (NO TOXIC MATERIALS).
@@WeekendBuilders Ok, thanks for the information, I build myself camping grills in my few free time. Since I always use furnace paint (matt black). There's nothing happening because the color burns. With a car park I'll try it too. I still wish you success in your work.
Screw this- this is way too much work. Looks beautiful though
Se ve muy inestable
Complication
Dude forgot to remove the valve stem 🤦 all that adhesive can't be great to cook with either... Love the concept but could've been executed better in my opinion
Yes, we saw it when the bbq was finished haha😁. It's nog silicon caulk but thermo refractory adhesive which is proper for this kind of projects and it becomes solid like a rock.
Idea ok. But worse with performance. First of all, you didn't need silicone. When burned, silicon produces carcinogenic compounds. It's better to weld. The valve is made of rubber and metal, and when burning on the meat will remain stink. But the idea is great.
Hi Elvis😁 Great that you like the idea! Just some extra info: We sandblasted the rim first to get it completely clean. For this project we DID NOT use silicon caulk, but Thermo refractory adhesive which is proper for this kind of project and it becomes solid like a rock. I'm sorry then. I didn't see on the movie what the materials was. Like a tube, it always reminds me of silicone :).
That's great that You used the best materials. Best regards and waiting for the next ideas implemented by You.
That doesn't look sanitary 😂😂
We sandblasted the rim first to get it completely clean😉
Slicon ???🤦

You can loosen the rim and throw it away in the trash👍
Russian idea.
This was actually the original idea, but since this rim was aluminum and we only found out very late we had to make it in a creative way.
We thought it would be nice to give this bbq a color, this is for everyone to do for themselves of course.
