    Extra info: We sandblasted the rim first to get it completely clean. For this project we DID NOT use silicon caulk, but Thermo refractory adhesive which is proper for this kind of project and it becomes solid like a rock. We used also is a heat-resistant paint, especially used for painting BBQ and ovens. (NO TOXIC MATERIALS).

    Great idea great setup the only thing I would have done more is put more airflow so charcoal Burns a little bit better and how do you clean out the ashes other than flipping it over? But other than that loved it thanks for the video

      We had no problems with the air circulation, you can remove the rim and the tube very easily from the frame to clean the bbq👍

For this project we DID NOT use silicon caulk, but Thermo refractory adhesive which is proper for this kind of project and it becomes solid like a rock.     como sacas las cenizas que quedan entre la tapa (la cual es innecesaria) y la llanta?

      La parrilla es removible, una vez que removemos la parte superior, es fácil de limpiar, sólo hay que tirar las cenizas directamente en un recipiente.

      We made it so you can loosen the rim with an allen wrench and then you can turn it over in the trash.

      You can remove the leg of the rim from the base and throw it empty in the trash👍

    You need a trap door/slider door on the bottom of the wheel to get rid of the ashes, otherwise it's very difficult to remove them. I've made and sold many of these.

      Otherwise all the ash from the barbecue will fall through the holes, you can detach the pillar from the base to empty it in the trash.

    why don't you. welding of the iron surface? instead of using silicone. tire tube in the rim too, you didn't throw it away

      Well this rim looked like a steel rim at first and we found out later that it was an aluminum rim. So we had to make the bbq in a different way😅

      Dit is vuurvaste kit die keihard wordt, dit geeft geen enkel probleem. De as is net zoals bij bijna elke houtskoolbarbecue een beetje werk hem schoon te maken :-)

    Why would anyone use poxy or paint inside the grilling area, all that crap is going into the food when fumes are released with the heat. Grill looks nice 👌 but paint should have been just for exterior use

      @@thunderbuffalo7230 The first idea was to weld it, but on the day we were going to make it the rim was aluminum after all. Also was already completely sandblasted so we made it this way.

    Dude forgot to remove the valve stem 🤦 all that adhesive can't be great to cook with either... Love the concept but could've been executed better in my opinion

      Yes, we saw it when the bbq was finished haha😁. It's nog silicon caulk but thermo refractory adhesive which is proper for this kind of projects and it becomes solid like a rock.

    Idea ok. But worse with performance. First of all, you didn't need silicone. When burned, silicon produces carcinogenic compounds. It's better to weld. The valve is made of rubber and metal, and when burning on the meat will remain stink. But the idea is great.
