I love the way that the kickflip style of fs flip that you do looks. I feel like mine always go a bit more vertical but it's what I'm comfortable with now.
The vertical ones are really nice because they look like chad muska's FS flip. I grew up watching his skate parts and always saw the legendary muska flip.
Wow, i tried almost everyday for 4 months and i wasn't able to even get close but i learned It in one night using your way and It feels soooo good, thank you man, your channel rocks!
I learned to Frontside Flip riding off a curb at an angle instead hitting it straight on. It was way easier for me to get the full 180 motion that way. After i got used to it doing it on flat was no problem.
Dude, thanks so much . I've got these dialed now. I used to do illusion flips, now I've learnt the Reynolds way. All because of these tips. I was so close to landing them before . I always got them but couldn't roll away. I can now. All from that no comply tip, and the tail push thingo. I always land it now and roll away. Itsy favourite trick but it just eluded me for so long. Much thanks from Australia my brother
thanks, I will try this. this has always been one of the tricks I have obsessed over a lot. I have landed a few I was really happy with. like your channel keep it up!
Can you do nollie bigspin heels? Those are one of my favourite tricks I almost had them when I was in my prime. I'd love to see you break them down, you're good at explaining stuff
For me, I really focus on giving the quickest snap possible on the tail with some scoop towards the front. It's has to be quick like a whip. When you do so , the rest of the motion is very subtle and almost effortless.
Best comparison with the no comply 180 - iv been skating for 10 years got a real solid kicklip but cant do this and feel like im just gonna jump straight on it next skate, sick!
Please do an in-depth on 5050ing round rails. Like how to keep them locked onto the round rail. Also how to lock in back smiths because mine always overshoot to backside lipslide.
For all 180 kickflip/heelflip variations, there's only one thing you need to keep in mind, "up and out"... that's what you should aim to have your feet do.
Have your front foot halfway to a nollie FS shove position, right in the pocket, pop down and flick your back foot toward the opposite pocket, after getting that, it's a matter of staying over it.
Learn to land them with just your front foot first so you get the idea of getting your fatass foot out of the way. Then go balls deep and commit. Try it fakie in might be easier
I'm pretty certain ive seen you do an impossible tutorial but it was on a square nose freestyle board? Id love to see a trick tip on a conventional board. Ive done them, but that back foot technique is lacking 😑 cheers radrat
I can't seem to get the full kickflip, I get the rotation and it stays under me but can't get the full flip unless I really concentrate on the flick but then I don't get the rotation. Any tips?
Personally I've found that it's mostly about the scoop with this trick, just like with the fs heelflip which is mostly scoop (for me at least). I put my back foot pretty much where Reynolds does and think of the flip kind of like a hardflip like you said but instead of flicking outwards like on a kickflip I imagine flicking through the board if that makes any sense. Tricky trick at first but when I got them down like I do them now they have just stuck, if I don't do them for a while it won't take long before they are back if I just keep thinking of my three main keys to it, scoop, hardflip flick and flicking through instead of out.
For some reason i just can't *not* flip the board end over end, which i mean i think looks cool anyways but yeah, and i super suck at hardflips but when i add a frontside turn, suddenly i can hardflip. . .its like i need that extra turn of the body to even flip the board, and i just like naturally scoop it upward i guess. Random thoughts on an old video lol 😅
Wow, I'm actually first (I think). Anyway i hate frontside flips, and everyone should stop doing them so that i can stop getting letters on it in games of skate. Edit: I actually ended up learning them! Im not too consistent yet, and im sure they look like crap, but hey I can pull them off here and there lol.
I have a question for Ask Rad Rat: are backside flatground tricks supposed to be harder than frontside ? Or is it different for each skater ? Which is "the hard way" ?
Thank you at least you get it you can't catch a FS flip at 90 and expect to roll away it just doesn't work that way so many horrible trick tips on YT but this is the exception
Can anyone help me out? Been getting into acutally skating instead of just watching stuff about it all day again and it's really hard to get the confidence to get the backfoot on the kickflip because the flick with the stepping off isn't too consistent. Been stuck there for a while so i'd really appreciate hearing what helped you guys
Alex Seibel just make yourself land on it. Not a lot of bad can happen on the flat. If you're too scared to fall you'll have a hard time progressing with skateboarding.
I love the way that the kickflip style of fs flip that you do looks. I feel like mine always go a bit more vertical but it's what I'm comfortable with now.
+VLSkate I've tried vertical, but they just don't work for me for some reason

Thismans is the definition of skate dad
This was always a bit complicated for me. It was easier to pop it as a hardflip than a kickflip
I think the hardflip way looks cooler too
If you do that then you can’t frontside flip into slides
Wow, i tried almost everyday for 4 months and i wasn't able to even get close but i learned It in one night using your way and It feels soooo good, thank you man, your channel rocks!
RadRat got a mean hardflip
Best trick tip videos. SO nuanced. I love how you show in slow mo how not to do it. It is so helpful. Thank you!

I'm gonna try 2 land fs flips tonight I've been trying to land em for a bit

I always catch my fs flip 90, scoop flick straight definitely my favourite trick
Ive known how to do this trick for 10 years and this video still helped me lol thank you

i didnt realize radrat had nasty frontside flips
Nice looking frontside flips rad rat!
Maaan I remember learning fs flips from your trick tip almost 10 years ago. Can you do bigspins?
I request a nollie heel trick tip. I just can't get a good flick. I need your secrets Aron
I'd suggest to think about scooping your nose forward as much as possible. Quick.
For all 180 kickflip/heelflip variations, there's only one thing you need to keep in mind, "up and out"...

Very nice. Could you do frontside 180 heelflips?
Those are nice fs flips dude
A bit unrelated. But thanks for the subtitle!
Can you do an inward heel trick tip? I've never been able to land that trick for some reason, although I haven't attempted many
Learn to land them with just your front foot first so you get the idea of getting your fatass foot out of the way. Then go balls deep and commit. Try it fakie in might be easier
Very helpful
Thankz

what you said about your back foot in popping them higher is how I hardflip
I already got them on lock but I still watch it lol
Do you have like street parts? Like ur good and can do a lot of tricks but have u ever taken them to street?
Nobody does it better than Tom Penny.

that's a muska flip, and if you do it that way you won't be able to go into sliding tricks with it

Front foot impossible trick tip pls!
I tried to do this for two years, landed maybe two times 😫 somehow i cant stay above the board. Maybe the no comply tip can be of help.
Wow, I'm actually first (I think). Anyway i hate frontside flips, and everyone should stop doing them so that i can stop getting letters on it in games of skate.
Edit: I actually ended up learning them! Im not too consistent yet, and im sure they look like crap, but hey I can pull them off here and there lol.
use this video to learn them so you'll stop getting letters!
Get them and you'll love 'em. Can you hardflip?
ha we know your weak point
Yeah, heardflips have never been a problem lol.
Nice shirt.
I have a question for Ask Rad Rat: are backside flatground tricks supposed to be harder than frontside ? Or is it different for each skater ? Which is "the hard way" ?
What's the music you use in your intro?
I have problem flicking while turning fs 180. Any help? what am I doing wrong?
I think what is happening is that you are doing it wrong.
Try to aim your flick downwards towards ground
Thank you at least you get it you can't catch a FS flip at 90 and expect to roll away it just doesn't work that way so many horrible trick tips on YT but this is the exception
360 flip 🙏🏼
* nice shoes man
I have snapped 3 boards on this trick.
Can anyone help me out?

Try la ding just with the back foot, then just the front foot, so both feet know what to expect. Then just commit.
Reynolds just has big feet
How to back foot flip
Reynolds Rat 🍕
easier switch for me, anyone else ?
BS or FS 360 !
When you show the foot position show it for goofy as well are regular. For the goofy skaters out here
this sounds like a good idea but you should be able to just imagine all these tricked mirrored by now
goofy is goofy
Isn'it it the same as hardflip? I am so confused.
aaa hardflip would be frontside flip without body varial?
yes!
Hardip your body doesnt spin
Thanks!!
ive landed one once in more than 30 years of skating. yes i suck... hahahah. my bs flips are better
f#*k - thanks for the video!!!
Dude I've been skating for about as long as you have. And my fs flips suck. My bs flips are on point too.
Next, teach us how to Kickflip Varial McTwist.
I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong...
why do you need a 8 minute video to tell them it's over down and square?
not correct! triangle + circle gives you nice late 90's fs flips.
remember to do them over the big gap in LA river
