My god.. those Audis still sound like beasts. I have to say to that the Fiats sounds like real Michael Schumacher racing cars. Incredible little cars.

+Halk luv boobis No. Its not stiffer. Probably similar spring rates. Shock absorber technology has came a long way since the 70's and 80's. If anything I would say the Polo has a higher damper setting.

I love seeing old Group B cars actually being driven.
Remember: With such a FIAT 131 ABARTH, Walter Röhrl won the MONTE-CARLO_RALLEY 1980 with an advatage of 10(!) minutes. He´s the only driver, who won this ralley 4 times with 4 differnet cars:
1980 Fiat 131 Abarth
1982 Opel Ascona
1983 Lancia Rally
1984 Audi Quattro S1

And the most incredible thing is that the driver is no less than ... Markku Alen ! And it was the same car that brought him almost to world title in 1986. he's getting old obviously.

@@ulysse21 I don't know if you're blind or something, but the cars suspension broke before impact. That has absoloutely nothing to do with him getting old. If anything the car is getting old.

The newer cars sound pretty good, but nothing beats the noise coming from those classics, like the Quattros, those Escorts...or that gorgeous Stratos. I could listen to that Ferrari V6 for hours. :-)

I have to admit I love all these cars . The evos and the Subaru's are wonderful cars. But when you here the straight 5 turbo of the S1 come by that car is god of group b.

The sounds of the Audi S1 and Ford Scort are, in my opinion, probably the best rally cars sound!

Buenisimo vídeo! Qué dolor el S4, dije lo mismo que tú al mismo tiempo jajaja. Bueno, y que más de la mitad tiren al 100% para ser un rally de show está brutal, el Celica y los Audis no se guardaban nada! Geniales los pilotos de WRC también.

Man, this was a blast to watch!! Great angles, sharp video, and wonderful sound! I am curious about one thing: I notice a decent amount of older models. Do they start with these older platforms to save money on the initial purchase? I'm willing to bet It's quite a bit cheaper starting with a 40 year old VW than the oh-so-sexy GT3 at 8:44.
don't many of the cars have reverse gear or something? and if not, how come? what is the purpose of having no reverse gear?

Can anybody explain to me the popping sound from the engine, when the driver is shifting gear?
some of the pops sound like engine backfire to me. if there's a wastegate, which allows air to bypass the turbo(s), it could also make that kind of sound. If you see the car spitting fire out of the exhaust pipe and making a popping sound, that's because they're burning fuel inside the exhaust system to get the opposite effect: keep the turbo(s) spinning while the engine slows down so that it can engage a higher gear.

No these cars mostly run on dog boxes.
Some of these Cars dont have reverse gear because that afects the performance

+Niko Silvennoinen It was not his fault. Right front axle broken. Just right before this corner. He saved the car. Check youtube for other videos from other side of view.
It was so undeservedly, unfortunately, unlucky . he deserve to drive S4 like nobody else. I waited for this moment (Alen +S4) last ~10years...
