Great day fishing brother! I’d say you need a bigger net. Lol hey crap happens that’s for sure. Either way it was a great day and thanks for the tips. We got sauger here in Tenn in our rivers and I’m trying to get them figured out myself
Hey man. I fish alum but not from a boat. I've trolled 1nce and got seaweed. But that was lake logan. I used to troll erie with my dad but haven't done it since 93. Ever get a chance I'd love to go. Throw ya some gas money. Looks like a blast
Nice video. I fish Alum Creek regularly and have just recently started to target saugeye. I've only caught a few and I'm still trying to figure them out. I'll definitely keep your tips in mind when I'm out there on my next trip. I'm picking up a new boat this weekend and will be back on the water early next week.
I really enjoyed your video and sorry you lost the really big saugeye. I am wanting to get into saugeye fishing at Piedmont Lake OH. If you have any other good tips, especially for Piedmont, i would love to hear them. Thanks!
Thanks! The rip rap along the dam and the rocks along the north shore is where I would start! I haven't targetted saugeye in that lake, but I did fish it for musky the first time ever this year! Beautiful lake for sure!!
good stuff....potentially stupid question: do you use an electric motor to troll or the gas? My boat's a little heavy and not sure if an electric has enough juice to power for long enough, but will gas scare them away?
Good action! You were getting bit. Beautiful crappies, man! I couldn't identify that first one you called a "dink" on my little screen. Kinda looked like a trout. What was it?
Thanks for the info, I'm trying to learning the Eyes
You are welcome. They can be challenging to figure out!
your boat has a perfect work station back there very nice luv those double headers
Thanks for watching!!
@@Dark30Outdoors U Bet doodle headers great entertainment.
Just found your channel, thanks for the video's! What rod holder's are these? I believe i need a couple
Down East rod holders. I think they are Salty S-10.
Just going back looking at old videos
I think this one is my most popular to date.
Just started your playlist buddy gonna let it play!!
Only time we caught Saugeye is in the Ohio river, I grew up near Senecaville lake, no Saugeye there that I knew of!
That's a really nice area!!
Hate losing a good fish!
Me too!! lol

Thanks for watching! It was a great day fishing but landing the big one would have been the icing on the cake!

Tom Keltesch and Everything Outdoors it was a good bite especially just being out for 4 hours!
@@Dark30Outdoors nice!
Nice video!
Thanks brother!!
Flickershads?
Yes, Berkley Flicker Shads! They work very well!
Thanks for the video. It gives me a little more hope the next time I'm at Alum.
Russell thanks for watching! When it comes to Saugeye we all need a little more hope! lol

Thanks!! Those are Down East Rod holders, S-10 is the model. Amazon usually has them for about $45 or so.

Great show. How deep where you running your baits?
Thank you! Approximately 6 - 8 feet down.

Generally, I have better luck with the electric trolling motor especially when they're shallow, but I've caught them with the gas motor as well.
Good action! You were getting bit.
Beautiful crappies, man!
I couldn't identify that first one you called a "dink" on my little screen. Kinda looked like a trout. What was it?
One Punch thanks! It was great action for 4 hours on the water! Dink saugeye!
Just had a 20 pound musky blah blah blah....
Yep!! It was fun!!
Those lures look small for saugeye. Are they rapalas?
Berkley Flicker Shads! Saugeyes love them! Crappie too!!
What size flicker shads were you using?
Alexander Roth usually the 5mm but sometimes 7mm.
@@Dark30Outdoors thanks, it looked like 7s but i kept thinking there's no way you were catching that many crappie on 7s haha
You forgot the most important tip of them all. Bring a real net with you and don't stretch out so far to net the fish, bring the fish to you.
