It wasn't specifically about Archie though...the alleged conversation was made in reference to 'future children'...and my 2 cents worth...is that it's perfectly natural to wonder about such things within mixed race marriages.
H & M have (imo) weaponised a probable innocent comment & twisted it into something that was never intended.

You’re missing a major point of what they alleged in the Oprah interview, which is that there was “concern” for Archie’s skin colour and how dark he would be. Wondering about what a child may look like is not the same as being worried a child’s skin will be dark.

It’s interesting that the book doesn’t mention what was said in those conversations. they could have been talking about the weather for all we know. Just labeling people racist without allowing the public to know what was said is manipulative and dangerous.

Harry said in the Oprah interview that that conversation was way before they were married. This announcer miss spoke saying it was when meghan was pregnant. She tried to combine that with conversation about the titles.

MM actually said in the OW interview that it was several conversations whilst she was pregnant and tried to shut Hasbeen down when he said it was at the beginning of their relationship

Im from a mixed race family- it isnt unheard of to ask how light/dark a pregnancy may be
My grandchildren are half white European and half Hindu Indian, and both families speculated about what the babies skin tone would be, hair colour and so on. It was completely normal. No one took offence at all. This whole thing has been blown out of proportion.
You both need new families then. The only thing anyone should be worried about is if the child is healthy!
My son is mixed and we discussed what we thought he would look like. Skin colour was a defo discussed. Very normal to me.

I am British Ex-Pat living in the U.S. and whilst I fully support the right to free speech, it comes with a responsibility. People who make accusations, wantonly, should be able to prove or back them up, otherwise there is no consequence to mud- slinging and the damage it can cause. There has to be some form of redress.

If you follow American politics and the American mainstream media, regardless of what they say, they are being responsible to their party or to their media network. However, there is no accountability for what they are saying to the public. No one goes to jail and in turn, people in the U.S. are not getting arrested for their facebook posts. The problem is the smear campaign to those calling out the liars.
I think Harry totally didn't understand our first amendment right to free speech when he called it 'bonkers'. I think he thought it meant you could say anything you want about anyone - which is NOT the case. It's meant to protect people who disagree with say, the government or a religious leader or some such. You can't just make things up and attribute them to 'sources' without proof and ruin a person's reputation ... that is slander and you will be sued and punished.
I'm American living in the UK, and I don't know why they are covering up the names. They were all over the papers and news here already.
That is not a translation error. This was a strategy. The same is true for the release in Italy . Names do not create the possibility for translation . Names are the same. There was a rumor that his book delay was due to parts that had to be removed for legal reasons.

Omid's interview with Dutch television convinces me this was planned. He is not upset at all - I would think most authors would be outraged if an "error" of this sort occurred with their work. Shades of the early "accidental" release of Harry's book in Spain.

A Dutch reporter has already said it is not possible a translation error. It was a huge cockup and was definitely not intentional. Scobie and the publishers are looking at a waterfall of lawsuits and counter-lawsuits.

The "alleged" conversation was said by Horrible Harry to have occurred before any alleged pregnancy. If there was a conversation it was certainly not racist in intent. It would have been a conversation with Harry - what did he say in that conversation?
Why would anyone tell a journalist/writer sensitive personal information if they didn't want him to use it? The only possible way H&M can attempt to convince us all that this book was nothing to do with them is to publicly dissociate themselves from it, and to condemn the content as the biased, mendacious drivel of a raving misogynist, which it clearly is. But I doubt they will. To date, they have never publicly condemned the absolutely awful things the Sussex Squad have said online in their support about the RF, either. So the implication is clear that they approve.
This is all part of MM's plan. She doesn't care for Harry yet knows he doesn't have enough money to get the settlement she wants in a divorce. Charles, on the other hand, has more money than he can count. MM wants the RF to pay BIG MONEY just to be rid of her.
They lied about the previous Omid Scobie book to the. British Court so they cannot win this one.
If H&M were to publicly state they didn’t contribute to Omid’s book, their critics would simply say they are lying, so what’s the point? It would just be more fodder for uk press to winge about.

The only way for Harry and Meghan to actual come out on top of this, is to refute the claims in this book and sue the author.
Other than that, I think we can all assume they were behind a lot of the accusations. That Catherine was so heavily attacked is a good clue - Meghan seems to view Catherine as her nemesis.

I think you must ask yourself why Omid Scobie can go to such lengths if he is not sure-footed that it is easier for tabloids and the RF to put all the blame on the Sussexes who are 5600miles away and he will not even move away from UK or even loose his job as a royal rota .He is in a clandestine mission to use Sussexes name and his dilly dalliance is to sell the book which will be bought by those who favor the RF and those who are positively disposed to the Sussexes and from the Sussexes will be used as sacrificial lamb while he goes off scotfree and continue working for the RF while there would be no reconciliation for Prince Harry and his nuclear family with th RF. That's Scobie End Game .The Sussexes will continue to be ostracized like the late Princess Diana...

Prince Harry and Meghan have nothing to do with Scobie's book .Why would they want a mouthpiece when they can simply have Meghan write her own Memoir if she wanted to.There something fishy about Scobie going about bravely writing unsubstantiated information and not be bold to say he is the author and not implicate others while he is still in the employ of the royal family's royal rota. Can you read your comment again? FYI Meghan didn't leak the letter, the press did, Omid made it clear he's not friends with Meghan neither is she part of the sources in the book. The Palace is known for leaks in the name of Palace sources.
The King first wrote to her and then she wrote back and they corresponded more I believe from the story reported back in April.

I don't see any downfall Meghan is going through, she's done with the family, left the country, told her side of the story and it's up to people to believe or not. I’ve been bemused for years now as to why the media keep saying (as has just happened on your show) that a royal raised the skin colour of the baby question WHILE SHE WAS PREGNANT.
Now, she did say that on the Oprah interview. In fact she said it was brought up several times while she was pregnant.
However when Oprah later in the interview raised this with Harry. Harry said, it was ONCE and that was when he FIRST STARTED DATING HER.
