I will hope whomever is confused by the term ‘Black theology’ would dig deeper and read some of Cone’s work. If you have never or cannot live it, I hope that you search for understanding as Cone’s work relate to the scripture.

I hope when it’s all said and done the blood of Jesus would have not been shed in vain for me. Help me Holy Spirit and order my steps. I desire to do your will, but I wrestle with my humanity. I often do the things I have no desire to do and the things I would like to do, I find myself not doing them. I lean on your strength Lord day by day.

black theology created for black people only... sorry, i missed the part where Jesus said His theology was only for the Jews.

It’s theology that relates to black people, and their experiences. That’s it. You can relate to it as well if you wish, because it is the gospel of Christ after all.

@@jalenakeem5059 apparently you haven’t heard enough of Cone’s teaching. All theology is for all believers. Christs only distinction between individuals reads as such; Rebel or Redeemed.

@@KARMICHAEL11 what do you mean by “all theology”?

@@jalenakeem5059 i appreciate the request for clarification; I mean biblical theology. as in scriptural doctrine derived from coherent study of the whole corpus of inspired scripture. not commentaries, apocrypha, or other religions

@@KARMICHAEL11 that’s very interesting. I would like to mention though that even in the inspired scriptures, there are books which have their own emphasis of different facets of the gospel, depending on the desired audience of that written scripture. One can argue that this theologians arguments are just another facet of the gospel. Also, do you believe that the scripture is inspired by God/Gods spirit?

It is a terrible mistake to think Jesus was merely a savior from oppression. In fact it is a false gospel and another Jesus. Suffering is complex.
