Beautiful story. I am a lifetime Norwegian American fisherman, dry fly ❤️. I must confess I know the Maker of the streams, oceans, mountains, fjords, and gorgeous women. He knows the answer to the River Why? He did write it in a Bible that's only dangerous to the one who wants to deceive into the pathway of death, and cause one to miss the purest clearest eternal river of life, along which grows the tree of life. This one of whom I speak did make the ultimate sacrifice to buy the pardon of all who are condemned, without appeal on the green mile to judgment. I hope everyone finds out who this one is, so they too can know the answer.
The title caught my eye, i love canoeing and philosophising but wasn’t averse to watching a fishing story and im glad to have seen such a deep side to him. I especially was drawn to Titus’s soliloquies.
In the book, it is little brother who points out: the river why. He is a profound kid who makes innocent but profound conversation that leads his big brother to greater realizations. The screenplay had to leave out several story lines for brevity.
This is my favorite fishing movie. One of my all time favorite movies. One of favorite romantic movies. One of my favorite family movies. A movie that reflects the pondering I have about the turmoil, romance, achievements and frustrations of my life, connecting to my love of nature and especially fly fishing. Even to my religious faith, the things I understand and those I relentlessly ask why? For example, the complete and shortest verse in the Bible, John 11.35: Jesus wept. Two words. Did you ever think about that? So many ramifications. The lead actress reminds me of my amazing wife Alison, who is also feisty, athletic, outdoorsy, at times difficult for me to understand, and yet sensitive, wise, compassionate, and very elegantly beautiful and graceful, and even similarly wavy blonde, stunning hair, and yet not conceited or proud, and even insecure in herself in some ways, including my love for her, despite our long lives together, and victories over great adversities, of which we still very much struggle, including the challenges with our three wonderful, but also very complex and bruised children, after the traumas each have experienced in life.
I’m glad the parents came around to mend fences. Unfortunately thats not how it always works. Honestly my kids couldn’t do anything to cause such a rift but we don’t take life too seriously
As to the title The River Why , there is always a Why and with that most answers come to you in a life time the ones that remain in unanswered have kepted us alive to when we will have found true peace in beautiful respect of it all.
His true innermost private thoughts came pouring out in a rush of philosophical imputation...after tedious hours of self reflection on the tedium of the consequences.
I love to eat trout. But, frack man, 16 minutes into this video and the boy has half a cooler of trout, some very small. He will soon have half a cooler of rotton fish. Perhaps he should be doing catch and release? His crazy mom and dad forgot to tell him if he keeps it, he MUST clean it and eat i otherwise it is a crime against nature, God, and man!t
I am David too, and did not get much from the movie. LOL got a lot from the comments. I never was a fly fisherman....So I have to see it through their eyes. to me, my image of AH is the one in this movie, and I fell in love with this young lady.
