Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl and Jake Delhomme played in one. So can Carr do either. Absolutely Besides the Saints super bowl was arguably not the best team they have ever feilded.
They were good that year of the Super Bowl but yea they definitely had 1 maybe 2 years that overall as a whole was a better dominant team than the 09 team. Somewhere in that 4 consecutive divisional championships
You keep saying Derek Carr is not going to win the Saints a Superbowl. Um do you remember the 85 bears and their QB. Jim McMahon was average at best. Defense wins championships. You shut down the opponents offense and all you really need is a kicker. 2009 ravens I think when they played San Fran. They had Joe Flacco. I mean seriously. But their defense was badass.
He basically had the same stats for Aaron Rodgers last year, and the only difference is the Aaron Rodgers has always had a better defense than Derek Carr through all his career so far.

I’m a Raider fan, I won’t be surprised if Carr has a career year. In fact, I think Carr will have such a good year, the OC will get HC interviews next offseason.
First you need right coach for rebuild and Denis Allen is not that HC. With the QBs we have, the salary cap, and draft picks along with available free agent QBs Carr is massive upgrade and it’s only 4 years we have him. It is what it is…
I'm confused by this contract bc we've heard 4 yrs/150m & we've also heard 2yr/60m guaranteed (with am "out" after year 2). Maybe you could bring someone on to break down the numbers bc there are conflicting reports & it affects how we perceive the value of the player. My main question is: Do we really have an out after year 2, or are we going to be cornered into restructuring him next offseason to get under cap?
Rappaport said it is basically a 2 year 60mil, or 3 year 100mil. This will not go the full 4 years, he would either be released or contract restructured by then.
@@Insert.Name.Here.or the other option is he balls out hard for the next 8 years for the Saints. I'm a Raiders fan and let me tell you Carr is so much better than given credit. Go look at the start of 2021 season before his coach was fired in his number one receiver was arrested and kicked out. He led the league in passing and had many fourth-quarter comebacks and was number two in touchdown throws. He just needs a competent OC and a good line to be great. He doesn't need top wide receivers that's just a bonus. It's funny I wanted the Raiders to get Olave so damn bad then we trade for Adams so I was okay with it. Now it looks like I'll get to see Carr throw too Olave after all 😂
Yeah, they're counting the guaranteed money...it's basically a 3yr 100mill deal...People don't understand that the market dictates the contract...30-35 Mill will be the bargain price for the 2nd tier QBs...Those Elite label guys will be getting 45-50 mill a year and it's only going to go up...Burrow, Hurts, Herbert may all get more than 50!! That's why the Chiefs went ahead and gave Mahommes a contract while he was still in his first contract and before anyone else could give other QB'S money....

Carr is a good QB. Not perfect but he will get the saints over the hump. As a Raiders fan I watched hime ply every Sunday and he left it all on the line. Team first player and outs in the work just need a good defense and solid organization. It was a mess in Oak/LV
If Payton was still there it would be a lot better and he's still solid but unfortunately we don't have the team fully healthy with the 2019-20 defense we'd be a contender but are defense fell off with the loss of marcus Williams, cj, Hendrickson, were all big losses

Y’all must not understand how sports analysts work… You are the epitome of the devil’s advocate, and you seriously entertain all theories and possibilities. Matt thinks personally that it isn’t likely, but he still has to articulate scenarios of how it could happen and take them seriously if there’s even the slightest chance. Everyone knew Tom Brady wasn’t coming to the Saints, but Matt still had to take such a scenario seriously and walk through what that would look like.
To be honest I don’t really like this too much I believe we could win the division with carr but that’s about it I could honestly see us doing the same wit Jameis and saved a lot more money.
Jameis was a payton passion play. Winston is way better than Dalton but they never let him ho back in after he was healthy. Dalton threw just as many pixk 6s too. I can't stand Dalton.
@Ball Bag Chris Not necessarily. He might be willing to stay under a new realistic contract. Doubt he would get much interest in the free agent market.
I dont think their going to draft a QB. This team is trying to win now. They need a DE, RB and WR. At safety they still have T. Mathew, M. Maye and Smoke Monday

They no way they can build championship team there not even under cap while still having to pay out multiple players which they have already restructured contracts which still left them with 30 million over with Carr not cutting anyone you are 130 million over the cap this ain’t gone be no Super Bowl yr. This is what happens you keep pushing cap down the road you will lack depth roster wise which you have kinda see The last two yrs.
@@GamerGrampz there more then that if Micheal Thomas stays by June he owed 60 mill signing bonuses plus there also also if he plays 4 games next yr he makes another 60 mill so right there that’s 120 mill then there who else do you rework contract or cut the problem right now it’s gone to be hard for them because if cut certain players that cuts into your depth which as right now they have major problem at DT, DE, RB and Safety because kamra and Maye will be out they have already reworked many of the contracts and there still over is the point lacking depth doesn’t make you Super Bowl team it’s when you look at teams like Philly and SF they are teams you are chasing and as of now both teams are better then the saints
I think that it's disingenuous to say that the Saints don't have an answer at qb without Carr when Jameis was not given a fair shot at all. Just tell the truth. Dennis Allen didn't want him so he sabotaged him and got who he wanted. Carr is Andy Dalton 2.0.

@@dl9232 I hear ya bro. I hold them accountable also but we just have different views on Carr. I was a huge supporter of his but by 2019 felt like the we needed to move on
I've been a big Winston fan since he was in college, but he is reckless with the ball. He'll get you a lot of yards, but he doesn't rally a team around him. In 2,835 attempts, Winston threw 96 interceptions. In 4,958 attempts, Carr threw 99. In addition, Winston's had 1 season where he had 9 wins. That year, he had the #15 defense. Carr went 12-3 with the #20 defense and then broke his leg. In 2021, he went 10-7 with the Gruden scandal, the Ruggs car wreck, 26th ranked defense, and a special teams coach. Plus, he's had to play against Mahomes and Herbert, so he's used to playing against elite competition. Even this year, he had his team up 17-0 against the Chiefs before his defense gave up once again, and his coach shut down the offense in the 2nd half.
I think these stupid announcers, keep saying, delusional, things, saying the same thing other announcers say, carr will not win the Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints. He have a chance to win a Super Bowl. Yes I see it. Look it up. He has beaten Patrick, Mahomes, and the Chiefs. He has beaten Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay Packers to.
Derek Carr only cost you more money and will give the Saints same stats as Andy Dalton. Still can't get over how stupid it was to get Derek Carr. But if signing Carr leads to garbage seasons and maybe signing Arch Manning in 3 years.. you peaked my interest.
@David Sellers I think Carr is going to surprise a lot of people. He's a solid lockerroom presence, leads the league in 4th quarter comebacks and OT wins since, and is top 10 in accuracy in NFL history. He's had to play with historically bad defenses his entire career but stayed loyal to his team. Then, the coach recently voted the worst in Broncos history, comes in hoping for Brady and is left with no one.

Now, with that bit of cap savings, he can recruit some players here. We will surround this cat with some talent and win the NFC South. What we do from there is up to the TEAM.
We need to get Devante Adams

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl and Jake Delhomme played in one.
So can Carr do either. Absolutely
Besides the Saints super bowl was arguably not the best team they have ever feilded.
They were good that year of the Super Bowl but yea they definitely had 1 maybe 2 years that overall as a whole was a better dominant team than the 09 team. Somewhere in that 4 consecutive divisional championships
And the 2011 team
@@dareg4042 was that when they lost to the 49ers?

You keep saying Derek Carr is not going to win the Saints a Superbowl. Um do you remember the 85 bears and their QB. Jim McMahon was average at best. Defense wins championships. You shut down the opponents offense and all you really need is a kicker. 2009 ravens I think when they played San Fran. They had Joe Flacco. I mean seriously. But their defense was badass.
Matt, how do you project a decline with Carr? What do you base that on?
Yeah I was thinking bout that. Look how well he played with Gruden and how McDaniel system looked. Wasn't good system for him
He basically had the same stats for Aaron Rodgers last year, and the only difference is the Aaron Rodgers has always had a better defense than Derek Carr through all his career so far.
Mike Triplett is 100% correct!
You Guy's have a QB who is one of the best at last minute scoring. Dennis Allen drafted Carr, that's a plus & Josh McDaniels set'm up to fail. Not allowing him to change the play if it's a bad look. Congrats He's never had a Solid team. You Guy's do.
Sounds like now that Carr is in house, the ball is in Jeff Irelands court to draft like the beast he is…Let’s go Jeff Ireland… get it done!!
I’d say we could take Hooker or another project QB and sit them under Carr for a bit. Might be a good move

@@stephanthibodeaux8423 fair he’s just a name I hear a lot. Just in general I wouldn’t mind us spending a second or third round pick on a project guy since he can sit for awhile

It's obvious McDaniels was playing to lose.

Drew in his 30s with this roster, we projected SB just saying
First you need right coach for rebuild and Denis Allen is not that HC. With the QBs we have, the salary cap, and draft picks along with available free agent QBs Carr is massive upgrade and it’s only 4 years we have him. It is what it is…
I'm confused by this contract bc we've heard 4 yrs/150m & we've also heard 2yr/60m guaranteed (with am "out" after year 2). Maybe you could bring someone on to break down the numbers bc there are conflicting reports & it affects how we perceive the value of the player.
My main question is:
Do we really have an out after year 2, or are we going to be cornered into restructuring him next offseason to get under cap?
Rappaport said it is basically a 2 year 60mil, or 3 year 100mil. This will not go the full 4 years, he would either be released or contract restructured by then.
@@Insert.Name.Here. exactly the contract isn't confusing

Can't wait to see him hitting juawan Johnson and Shaheed and olave Harty he's going to have weapons and hopefully Mike thomas plays to
NFC is weak, so if the coaching is up to par, a SB is possible. If they have an out after 2 years or can restructure this is smart. There’s only 4-5 teams in the NFC who have a QB of his caliber.
If Carr is not the best option. What options do you support. You are the GM of the Saints, what's your plan to win the Super Bowl?
Can we really say Saints has decent offensive players? O-line was average last year, Olave is our best WR which is nothing to brag about, MT has been gone for the past two years and will probably won't suit up again this year, Kamara will probably face a big suspension...Carr will be our best offensive player this year lol and that's not saying much
Cautiously optimistic
Who’s this guy already saying Carr’s going to regress year by year!? He had one off year. Hasn’t even played a down yet and already showing lack of commitment. Look at his steady rise in passing yards over the last 4 years. Not a good quote. 😒
Dude the man plays losing football
@RealJuicyBaby he was on the Raiders. No QB was winning there. They were 48-96 in the 9 years before he got there.
You're not winning the superbowl with Derek Carr. You're winning the superbowl with the saints defense.
That does and doesn’t make any sense

You’re winning because of the saints defense

Dennis Allen is NOT Sean Payton. Therein lies the issue.
For those who say blow it up consider the jets success at drafting QB recently.
Mark Sanchez
Gino Smith (2nd round)
Sam Darnold
And now Zach Wilson all hi pics
NO SUPER BOWLS and I think maybe just one Div title.
So blowing it up can go terribly wrong.
Chauncey Gardner Johnson, Alex Anzalone, and Trey Hendrickson slipped away from N.O.
Carr is a good QB. Not perfect but he will get the saints over the hump. As a Raiders fan I watched hime ply every Sunday and he left it all on the line. Team first player and outs in the work just need a good defense and solid organization. It was a mess in Oak/LV
trade Thomas and find a way to reconstruct Kamara's contract. Draft Tillman and a RB

Keep mike sign Leonard Fournette
Michael Thomas has a new contract. He's not going anywhere
D.C. will attract good talent to the Saints.
Yes he will. He’s a players player.

@Ball Bag Chris Not necessarily. He might be willing to stay under a new realistic contract. Doubt he would get much interest in the free agent market.
At 29. Draft at DT at 40. A RB or the future QB hooker or Richardson... in free agency clowney (Edge) another DL & a veteran WR landry or OBJ
Or playoff Lenny if we dont draft one

They no way they can build championship team there not even under cap while still having to pay out multiple players which they have already restructured contracts which still left them with 30 million over with Carr not cutting anyone you are 130 million over the cap this ain’t gone be no Super Bowl yr. This is what happens you keep pushing cap down the road you will lack depth roster wise which you have kinda see The last two yrs.
They were 18 mil over the cap before signing Carr, so with his 7 mill first year cap hit that puts them at -25
@@GamerGrampz there more then that if Micheal Thomas stays by June he owed 60 mill signing bonuses plus there also also if he plays 4 games next yr he makes another 60 mill so right there that’s 120 mill then there who else do you rework contract or cut the problem right now it’s gone to be hard for them because if cut certain players that cuts into your depth which as right now they have major problem at DT, DE, RB and Safety because kamra and Maye will be out they have already reworked many of the contracts and there still over is the point lacking depth doesn’t make you Super Bowl team it’s when you look at teams like Philly and SF they are teams you are chasing and as of now both teams are better then the saints
I think that it's disingenuous to say that the Saints don't have an answer at qb without Carr when Jameis was not given a fair shot at all. Just tell the truth. Dennis Allen didn't want him so he sabotaged him and got who he wanted. Carr is Andy Dalton 2.0.

How many fumbles did Carr lose in 2022 ?
You guys are so biased Derek car numbers aren’t better than Winston’s coming from the same exact situations in teams
