Thanks for featuring my Springfield! It's a challenge to get the balance between cash flow and aesthetics. Some really amazing examples here of cash farming, I like the last one by enrisimo (guessing the spelling).
I completed my town without house farming. Most houses I only have one apiece. For a few (don't recall offhand which ones) I have two, but that's only because it was necessary to get a five-star rating.
I believe that the house farming to this day is going to save you a lot of money over a long period of time. If you get the house farming started like I'm trying to I'm going to buy 300 or so and not delete them for over a month and see if its worth it. I've seen videos with these house farming stuff and it seems very helpful.
I started playing last August (SkewsMe) to fill time catching up on years' worth of weekly hour-long International Spy Museum interviews, and went into buying up houses calculating payouts into the months' worth of casual farming to pay for themselves. Many are scattered into a neighborhood feel, but many are still packed together at the edges. I recently learned about farming Kwik-E-Marts for donuts so I'm trying to find the right balance with money-making to keep buying land at the same time. Otherwise, I'm trying to grow my city organically as a city planner might. Right now my yearbook features the Krustyland monorail expansion as well as Bart's Cave to bolster his coup against Kamp Krusty.
That is a good idea. White is smaller but Blue or Purple work for this purpose. A variety may be nice and I would give the area enough room for other buildings.
I'm at Level 32 and have 2013 Halloween and Christmas items, I used to have roads, but deleted them for more room for buildings, I have a couple of houses that are giving me money (taxes). My problem is that more quests are popping up that require buildings built or more buildings are unlocked. My cash is limited and land is full. What do I do for money?Should I buy more houses for cash flow? If I think of a missing variable then that will come up in a comment. Any tips for cash flow or land usage or cash farming would be greatly appreciated.
Building $$$$ buildings or making boatloads of money won't be easier until you intensively cash-farm everything and start without an actual town after Level 20. Everything gets more fucking expensive esp. if you don't build once you have the "order" (or it pops up asa a request) and then you have multiple buildings which are on the list. The ones I like to build are the ones with a character (or two or more) because that is somebody the player can boss around and some even have "costumes/alternate identities" . The Police Van has two cops attached but it costs donuts. Same with other characters not or is attached to buildings that cost donuts. This is a hint for addicts or newbies along with free information. Sometimes you have to free up land. I expanded too quickly earlier then expanded again until I forgot and became too full with buildings and Holiday special stuff and whatever else. BTW - there are bigger buildings that take up more space and about 4 or 5ish of premium items also take up more space.
Just started playing two weeks ago. I'm on level 26 or something and I haven't even finished building the power plant yet. I'm building up to about a half million $ this week on endless brown house tapping to finish up my blue house farm of 500 units. Finally I can relax and play the game with some leisure after that. Those bottom corners are getting pricey though ($50,000 for the eighth square down on the beachfront), so I may need to throw down a few hundred more houses and just come back to clean up three times a day for a while. My characters and buildings so far only need the one road I've built along the beach. There's no space between the structures, but at least they aren't bunched up like they were during my first week of house farming. The frantic tapping has lost me a lot of donuts because I accidentally accelerate the process if I'm not cautious. Not that it matters. I think donuts are actually too rare to be of practical value, so when I get two I just spend them immediately on a crop or boost a building instead of carelessly losing them on brown house for seven measly coins. *sigh*
tacoboy112276 Hi kevin. Eventually I was smart enough to find the "confirm donut spend" protector in the menu, but I'd probably lost about 50 or so before I did. When you get past all of the primary quests you can earn 3 donuts a week (or thereabouts depending on your obsessiveness) by selling and then replanting a couple of rows of houses. That's the fastest way to boost XP and level up without hacking. Be sure to throw down the 50,000 coins to get the three donut box if you don't hit it the first time. The random activities, like the recent Clash of Clones and Halloween specials, frequently earn a blast of donuts if you're rich enough (and consistent enough) to go after every item and/or quest. You probably already knew all of this. Looking forward to seeing ya.
I see you got the fleet-a-pita trucks going on, so you can make Luanne wander around with the go-go ball. Too pricey for me yet. I just got the clumsy french waiter a day ago, but I haven't been through all his quests yet. One of his jobs is to be clumsy for 24 hours. Looking forward to seeing that one. :-)
Yup. I even graffiti-ed Moe's Tavern in your town. Nice set up. I switched to white houses a while back because tapping out that field of blue three times a day was getting tiring. The white houses take up a fraction less space and earn more $ and XP every 12 hours, so it's probably a better deal in the long run. When I had my town completely full of them I was taking in about 600,000 a day. It's a little more frustrating though because of how closely packed they are-- I had to come up with a tapping pattern that wouldn't keep me busy for more than a half hour. I've got nearly $14,000,000 in my account, but I still need them to level up quickly and keep the donuts flowing.
Nelson's mom just popped up with the strip club a few weeks ago. She's level 45 or 46 so you won't get to unlock her until you've finished almost all of the other quests. You can find her in the "characters" box called "More Oddballs" with Dr Nick. Quimby's nephew just popped up a few days ago also along with the Quimby estate. You won't need donuts for either of them. Just patience and time. If you look for "KC Loves Gaming: The Simpsons Tapped Out" on RUclips you can watch him, KC, play the whole series from the beginning. His channel also has the "premium character walkthrough" so you can decide which characters, if any, are worth shelling out donuts for.
You're getting there. I still have a few plots left in Krustyland, but otherwise I'm just after XP to get more donuts. I'm blowing up my town at midnight just to rethink my set-up. I think it's time for me to start decorating like real player rather than a psycho house farmer. As for whether 17 million is enough....TOO MUCH IS NEVER ENOUGH!!! You've got nearly as much money as me, but I keep selling and replanting white houses for the XP, so my money dwindles very quickly if I'm not maintaing my farm. After you've bought all of the characters and buildings that don't require donuts you'll see what I mean. I've got 25 donuts right now and I'm hoping to have 80 around Valentine's Day so that I can buy Shawna. Happy Thanksgiving, my friend!!!
My Section 8 / Council Estate Springfield can be seen at sribope, BTW. I expect that I'll convert to Purple or Blue houses after all of the real estate is purchased. Yes, I have too much time on my hands right now.
My personal experience is that you need allot of houses, like you mentioned in this vid the building + land + squidport these days are huge. I am currently down to my last bit of land and from top to bottum it costs me around 1,6 million. I have currently a section of my town purely with blue houses(around 250 of them) I do have a 2 tile gap between 5 houses to make it easyer to click em(1 movement without having to move screen). You also forget the special building like: sunthing(750k) staircase to nowhere(1mil) popcicle tower(2mil) magnifing glass(3mil) huge daimond(5mil) I get around 100-150k a day with the houses i got and you 100% need em else you are stuck forever with saving cash for land and building.
I started a second account just to experiment with house farming. I think of these tightly packed neighborhoods as Section 8 housing, which you might translate as council estates. I started off with 100 Brown houses. It requires intensive activity but with bonuses (I buy all of the white picket fence I can get without buying donuts) it pays $8400 and 2400 XP an hour. My focus has been on buying up land. I'm at level 21, now buying $33K land, and about to build the Android's Dungeon.
Im level 15 I have lots of money. I started buying lots of orange houses and put everyone on 24h stuff. for example Lisa does next weeks homework im just about to buy Moe s tavern

cool - I guess I'm just not willing to log onto the game that often - but the brown houses definitely give some nice income if you sit on the game.
I completed my town without house farming. Most houses I only have one apiece. For a few (don't recall offhand which ones) I have two, but that's only because it was necessary to get a five-star rating.
Ikr.. I get donut farming for the actual cash related to it, but what's the point of playing if you have everything

I used to do this but not as extensive. I used Blue Houses by Springfield Power Plant and above my other houses. Took them off for some reason.
I have one section which is just blue for farming - then other colours dotted about for variety in the main city.
Brown House and White/Blue House and Purple House are good cash farming. White House is smaller than others.
I need to start farming I get money for a building then I'm broke :( gotta start farming!!!
