Don't understand the strong hostility here. A 50% increase in funding, and it has been clearly stated how it will be paid for. It isn't an unfunded commitment. Labour can't win it seems. Announce funding = isn't enough...
I went across from Dover to France for a driving holiday. As soon as you arrive in France, their roads are as smooth as billiard tables. They are so well maintained compared to roads in Britain. Our roads need fully re surfacing because the tarmac has lost its tar and then it loses its flexibility and water resistance. The reason for this is that it's years overdue for replacing. We are a poor country now, go across the channel and see how behind we've fallen. Depressing.
I've noticed the council keeps on messing around with the same roads and wasting millions they would sort out road A today and next year road A would get a different road layout and then a couple of year's later do the same thing to road A once again that's just one road millions spent on imagine how many more roads they do this to

They need resurfacing not bodgingsav money that way won't end repairing for a long time
