Superb and insightful interview from the perhaps the greatest of all living pianists (in my humble opinion)

Wonderful interview. Maestro Zimerman's comments on digital music and studio recordings were eye-opening to me. As a country mouse I am only rarely privileged to hear live performance and I am grateful that he and many other superb musicians continue to provide us a glimmer of their artistry from the studio and live recordings. I find his recent Szymanowski recording sublime, much as I find the Mythes he recorded with Kaja Danczowska. Bravo and thank you.

Mr. Zimerman, putting off Symphony Concertante to the next life is the most scary thing! How are you sure you are going to meet Mr. Rattle there?!

Above all, he couldn't agree withe Irakian war in 2003 and the US project to put missiles in Poland in 2009.
Finally this project dropped down He was afraid his country should be involved in a conflict as Ukraine since two years now .

It's interesting what he says about live recordings and having to make a choice between playing for the microphone or the audience. I wonder why it is then that he goes so crazy when people make audience recordings of his concerts, especially when they are recorded in good sound. Seems the only way to reconcile the two, no?
