For some reason they just refuse to properly fund NJT despite time and time again they have shown to properly serve the state and have made massive plans to improve the system. NJT is like the neglected child of the Northeast. I really do hope that changes

Not sure what your deal is with Morristown. I think its a pretty nice station. And hey, it was featured in a Cyndi Lauper video, so that gets it some bonus points imo. I'd also argue Kingsland, Lyndhurst and Garfield are pretty lousy. Kingsland and Lyndhurst are decrepit, while Garfield is on a tight curve with no facilities and is just generally lousy. But then, Lyndhurst and Kingsland are due to be replaced soon anyway, so theres that.
Why Union? It’s one of my favorite spots as I go there a lot to see the freight trains pass there. It’s better than Roselle Park which I think is a pretty bad station. Paterson I think is the worst. I went there once and it was horrible as there were weird people everywhere and it was so dirty.

Absecon is just garbage bc it's not the best place to get good shots. Egg Harbor is risky. Hammonton is risky. Atco is ok. Lindenwald is risky. Cherry Hill is ok. Pennsauken is actually good. And Philadelphia 30th street is dangerous.
I used to take the train to Perth Amboy with my grandpa for hotdogs when I was a young & small boy. Elizabeth & Paterson are probably worst than Perth Amboy. Perth Amboy is sort of decent.....FYI you forgot to mention Newark Penn.
Anderson st is only useful if youre in a rush to catch something and you're in the area of Hackensack. Other than that, Anderson is practically useless. Elizabeth is pretty decent for action, but the area that it is located in Newark is extremely dangerous and is recommended to visit the top of the garage for not only a nice view, but a "safer" inhabitance. Personally, I've never visited Morristown but I heard it's pretty decent on weekdays, in terms of action. Bay head is legit a terminus station. You expect 50 trains to pass by there in less than an hour?

Secaucus is the absolute worst. Poorly designed and each transfer requires walking up to the main concourse then scanning your ticket at a fare gate then walking down another one or two flights of stairs to your next train. Limited food and drink options and they’re all crazy expensive
It’s good for Railfanning. I can agree about the switching levels when I got off the Pascack Valley Line. My mom and I had one of the staff members help us go to the upper level and gave her $10. The Junction is designed well but I haven’t been to Faber and other food courts.
Literally how can you hold some of these stations lower than Bound Brook, Jersey Avenue, Kingsland, Garwood, Garfield, Cherry Hill, or Manasquan. Bound Brook has terrible access to Track 2. Jersey Avenue has the weirdest and most inconvenient track arrangement for the NEC. Kingsland has just one bench and a track running through a decaying platform on the Hoboken side. Garwood and Garfield barely have any platform length, access, or service from their respective lines. Cherry Hill has little parking and is completely obstructed by a shopping center. Manasquan is practically equal to Bay Head. Yet somehow you've determined Union, a station with ample parking, ADA compliance, and close access to homes and a University is a bad station. I fail to see what logic you're following.

Even now Cherry Hill Station hardly has purpose outside of its bus connections and access from Route 70. No one can really walk there conveniently, it's completely obscured by shopping centers, and even the parking isn't next to the station.
@@RaisedLetter There is some parking at the station. I didn't pay attention to how much but cars pulled up while I was waiting for the train. I used it while having a vehicle serviced at CHD. It worked out great for me. Dropped the car off and walked to the train. Its not a door to door service but I've used the station a few times over at least 20 years and I'm glad it was there. Was just wondering what makes a bad station a bad station?
@@edmundanderson657 every other station on this list (excluding Jersey Ave) is at least walking distance from a neighborhood. Cherry Hill doesn't even have access to the other side of the tracks. It's ridership doesn't compare to its PATCO counterparts. Woodcrest especially. With the configuration of the Atlantic City line and how it runs, they would have been better off having a station at Woodcrest rather than Lindenwold and Cherry Hill and just leave the PATCO to serve those areas.
Basically what I was looking for with bad stations was poor access and walkability, out-of-date accommodations, great distance from residential areas, poor service frequency, and poor state of maintenance. Cherry Hill ticks a few of those boxes.

What’s so bad about Morristown station?
Union is a good station. It’s by kean university, has a nice neighborhood and easily accessible bathrooms from the Barnes N Noble a block away.
