Alam mo ba my friend, Ito Ang balak Kung gawin sa Isang generic kalimba ko, but originally what I plan to do ay mag pagawa Ng wood Ng kalimba on my own choice of wood and design. Kasi may place sa Samar na woodcraft and woodcarving supplier. tapos balak ko ako na maglagay Ng tines Ng LingTing. Kaya nakakatuwa na, na try mo na. 😍😘..Love your courage to do that. Ang strong..hehehe
OMG! I literally did this EXACT thing with the EXACT same tines and the EXACT same budget kalimba (even the same color😂!) many months ago! It sounds on par with all my expensive kalimas and was really fun to do ☺️
after watching a whole bunch of your videos i ordered my first kalimba a few days ago and received it today. based on everything you so graciously taught me, i went with an acrylic kalimba and couldn’t be happier with my decision. i’m having a blast and just wanted to thank you for your content
I'm happy with my moozica kalimba but this may come in handy if my keys ever rust or otherwise need to be changed. Good to know that lingting now sells tines replacements :) thank you!
I always look at your videos with a lot of pleasure, to see the video seems easy to do this. I'm not very good at these things, I don't know if I could. God bless you sweet sister 💕 💕 💕 💕
Still fairly new to kalimba. I like the idea of getting new tines for my Gecko box. Will replacing tines help with the high tones on the short outside tines, like 2, 7, 3, 1? I can hardly push them down and they give a very flat tone right now, especially 2 and 3, Am I asking the question right? Thanks for all you do. Your vids have been very helpful.
Thank you for this -- the only other video I found basically recommended just whaling on the tines until they bent up, which was not working for me. I'm glad I saw yours that recommends just pulling on them from the rear while pulling up a bit. That makes a lot more sense to me. Looking forward to replacing the nail-shredding tines I currently have with the new more rounded LTs. :-)
I have a question, why is my kalimba buzzing after harsh winter? I have like 5 kalimbas and all of them are buzzing! Do I retune them or clean the cylinder?
Woohoo! I also tried to change my tines kalimba with lingting tines 🤣 the first try failedd (it was. RIP kalimba now..) hahahahaha The second one finally success 😍 But i think it will be the last for me changing tines 🤦 hahahahhaa Thank you for sharingg ❣️❣️❣️❣️
This was a very interesting DIY project! 😃 I do have a question, though: What happens if You put any of the tines in upside-down by accident? Would it be easy to tell the mistake? Would it feel stiff? Would the kalimba tines sound unusual or feel different? Is this an easy mistake to make, or one you wouldn't expect? 🤔 Maybe I am overthinking this, but that would be my main concern; (I'd even consider a new kalimba over trying what we just learned. 😅)
The first thing you need to make sure is since the LingTing tines are not engraved, do this on a flat surface and keep the tines in their package, only taking each individual piece out as needed. LingTing keeps their tines visually organised in a plastic container-like thingy so you know which tine is which... again, visually. Since the ends of the tines are curved downwards, you will absolutely know if your tine is upside down or not. One end is straight so you know that side goes toward the back. Now, I did once put the wrong tine in the wrong spot, but I was able to notice it at least two tines past, so I easily took them out and put the correct one in. It only happened because I wasn’t paying attention for some reason and overlooked a tine that was sitting in it’s package and went straight for the next one. Anyway. The only difficult thing about putting the new tines in is simply the tighter spots where you literally have to hammer the kalimba harder - some pieces are a bit more stubborn to hammer in but don’t be afraid to pound it cause you just have to with some. That’s why I got the cheap wooden flatboard so that if the bridge breaks it’s cheaper to replace. Anyway, all went well so 👍🏻 Good luck!!!
hello, i got an question i got my kalimba a few ago. and when it came home, i found out that the last 4 keys of it is dead. i tried to fix them as i can but didn't worked that much. what can i really do to fix them ?
Hello friends, I’m a new beginner to Kalimba and just started learning and playing a few days back. One of my tines (C6) seems so loose that no matter how much it is in tune at first, just after playing it 2-3 times, the key drops to B6. 😔 Is there anything I can do to fix this?
You could try bending it slightly downward to increase the tension or slide a piece of paper stripe underneath it then cut the extra on the side. Hope this helps a little 😊
Oh you can watch our videos here on the channel 1 wood vs acrylic then 2hollow vs flatboard. From there i think you will discover what feels right for you. Because it really depends on your personality 😉
Mmm mmm 🤔 me thinking about I have some resin at home so I could make a board. Now tines are less cheaper than an original kalimba. Sooooooo I am gonna make my own kalimba 😅🥳 How is my idea ate 😆
im binge watching your videos haha can i ask you a question? i ordered a kalimba and im looking for a good tuning app can you please recommend any app for tuning kalimba? edit:Thankyou!
Pag nasa dulo ung tine, isa sa nakita kong makakatulong is subukan mong babaan ung tone ng buong kalimba from C to B(or lower) :)
Please read the disclaimer on the description box, friends!

Hi Ate, can you also do a video na ganito din pero using hollow kalimba naman. 😁
Mareresolve nya po ba ung stiff end ng hollow?

Hi Po Ate! Been little bit late, but I'll watch it full.
hello, i got an question
i got my kalimba a few ago. and when it came home, i found out that the last 4 keys of it is dead. i tried to fix them as i can but didn't worked that much. what can i really do to fix them ?
There's nothing much you can do with dead tines:(
1. Try to avoid playing the dead tines
2. Get a new kalimba

Sounds like a plan! I'd love to see it! If you have an IG account, I'm "Tips.kalimba" there 😍
@@TipsKalimba 😄 my id is pineapple_1812. But let's see will my parents allow 😆
This is kind of off topic, but if you had a dead tine, could you repair the tine by replacing it with a new one?
Can I also put the Ling Ting Tines into a generic acrylic kalimba?
Thank you so much for your content and your sweet personality!
Oh definitely! I'm sure they will sound oh so good!
@@TipsKalimba ok... then I try! 🤗🤭
That's awesome!!! 😲
