I've always felt the woodblock's pulse as accenting the offbeats of a 2/4 rhythm (with the first downbeat being silent at the start of the piece). Was this the intention, or do I have it all reversed and the woodblock is actually hitting on the downbeats?
This is Astronaut music, fighter pilot stuff, fast moving, powerful locomotive. The shuttle launching to orbit, music that celebrates the triumph of Man over his faults and failures. But then we also have Beethoven's 9th for that also. Heehee
