This 5k PARKRUN took me BACK TO SCHOOL! - Hastings High School

Hastings High School Parkrun was established in 2022 and is one of the more challenging Parkrun's in the country ranking in the top 25% for how challenging it is. It is located in Leicestershire close to the M69 motorway.
This was the first Parkrun we have done that takes place within the grounds of a school. It definitely brought back some memories (not always fond ones) of P.E and Games lessons in the cold winter months wearing heavy rugby kit and completely inappropriate footwear for the conditions.
Facilities here were good, we parked for free in the school car park, but on busier weeks this might prove more challenging. There are also toilets accessible within the school Maths building. There is also a cafe on site providing food and drink for when you finish your run.
Thanks to the excellent team of volunteers at Hastings High School, some of the most enthusiastic of all the Parkrun's we have attended.

Crikey that does look a different type of course. I’ve only done my local Parkruns in Staffordshire and these are pretty fast I reckon. But a ‘themed’ Parkrun would be a great diversion. Have a great Christmas and look forward to 2024 content!

Looked lile a weird course. I thought you were going to end up running through the school corridors 😂 . Your volunteer video has prompted me to volunteer which i am doing on Christmas day and hopefully i will manage to cobble together a video for it.

It’s a bit of an odd one, but that’s what makes it interesting. Mixed terrain, really tight corners through around the school buildings. Good job for volunteering, especially on Xmas day. I think I’m going to miss a Xmas day Parkrun this year. Travel commitments on the day will likely just make it a bit too challenging.
