This was my first purchase from the KJV Store. I love the Bible and this edition is the nicest I have ever had and I have a lot of Bibles. Appreciate the KJV store too. God bless!!
I have both the Cambridge ESV wide margin in goatskin and this exact bible. I love the Cambridge bible layout but it is an ESV. The Common man's bible is just to unbelievably heavy but I guess its meant to be an at home study bible.
Just depends on how much information you want at your fingertips, at home or at church, etc... but yes, full blown study bibles with commentary, which the Common Man's Bible is, do tend to be somewhat thicker (and can be heavier) than a standard text-only or reference bible. God Bless.
I’m thinking between this version and the KJV Note Taker’s Bible - Lambskin edition. Does this one stay opened easily like when reading Genesis and Revelation? I don’t wanna have it flopping back closed when reading, and in the review of that version, you said it should remained opened easily without closing. Is that the case with this Bible too?
Yes, because both the Note Taker's Lambskin: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-note-takers-bible-lambskin-edition/ AND Common Man's Reference Bible Lambskin: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-common-mans-reference-bible-lambskin-edition/ are both Edge-Lined style AND smyth-sewn, they are both flexible enough to open and lay flat in Genesis or Revelation. Both of them may take some time to "break in" and lay flat in those sections more easily, but they will both definitely lay flatter more easily than an inferior "paste off" style binding that isn't smyth-sewn. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your question!
@@TheKJVStore Thank you that answered my question. I’m confused though, you say this review is a review of the third edition, but the link to that common mans Bible you provided said it’s 5th edition. Is that a typo being a 3rd edition or is it still a 5th edition?
Correct, the bible IN THIS VIDEO is of the 3rd Edition (which was the latest CMRB bible available at the time this video was made many years ago) but Yes, the CURRENT edition available for sale on our website is the 5th Edition: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-common-mans-reference-bible-lambskin-edition/ There are no significant changes to the layout, style or features from the 3rd to 5th Editions. Each edition only makes minor corrections to the commentary from our understanding. We hope this helps clarify things for you.
Hi there quick question i usaully go threw a differant company 4 my bibles but lately they have been disappointing me. Especially when getting a name imprint.it takes them 4 days to imprint which is in my opinion ridiculous and i always get 2 day ship to try 2 even the time out.which costs me more.i just would like 2 know what is your. Max time on imprints .thank u
Thanks for your comment. Name Imprinting is a very delicate and yes, time consuming process. Our Name Imprinting and Custom Indexing usually takes 2 business days on average. But that is certainly not guaranteed. Typically an item is imprinted and shipped within 2 business days though. We hope that is helpful. Blessings.
+Unfeignedhomeschool The 3rd Edition is the only one still available, but it is probably better for women because it's thinner and therefore less bulky. The CMRB 3rd Edition in Lambskin is perfect for a man or a woman really. Blessings.
From the CMRB Editor: "It would be my understanding that Gap Theory implies one is uncertain. I believe there is a Gap of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. It appears to be a time that Lucifer ruled under the delegation of God until Lucifer sinned by pride. It appears the gap would be no more than 2000 years."
They are made with the same lambskin by the same bindery so really no. The Scofield is a little more manageable size that some customers like but that's about it.
Hello Gary, the majority of our KJV Bibles do not contain the Apocrypha and as a company, we do not consider the Apocrypha to be Scripture. You can read our more in-depth FAQ on the Apocrypha here: www.thekjvstore.com/f-a-q/#apocrypha
It is one of our best-selling bibles period and definitely one of the best-selling study bibles. It's also the most reviewed product on our site. Blessings.
Thank you for reviewing this bible; however, the excessive camera movement when showing the pages and wide margins approximately 8 minutes in on this video does little to help the viewer because of the visual distraction. Would it be possible to make your camera stationary in the future? That aside, I really appreciated that you took the time to explain the references and notes aspect of this study bible - very helpful! Because of your review, I'm going to buy this bible from you on payday :-)
+Gayle Hall Hi Gayle, thanks for your kind comments and suggestions. We understand that our videos are not "perfect" and are by no means professionally done. We feel that zooming in on the actual Scripture up close with a hand-held is the only way to adequately show the many features of our bibles. A stationary camera makes it more difficult to show a single verse or cross reference or marking on a verse which is very small in some bibles, verses, special features, or commentary. We'll do our best to make the camera less shaky in the future. God Bless.
This is my favotite Bible Store, I was an assistant book binder in the 70s, great quality.
We are so grateful for the high praise Andy. Thanks so much and God Bless!
The lambskin is sooo buttery soft well worth what you pay.I've had mine for around three to four months now.I LOVE THIS BIBLE.
Yes it is! Available here: www.thekjvstore.com/kjv-common-mans-reference-bible-lambskin-edition/

Are you planning to a do a review of the all new fourth edition?
We will certainly consider this for the future. but the only thing that has changed at all is the addition of Red Letter text. Blessings.

Does this Bible teach the pre trib rapture?
Bro. Hoffman, the editor said, "Yes, the pre-tribulation rapture of the church."
Awesome review! I know this is the 3rd edition. Does the 4th edition have the lined note pages in the back like the 3rd edition does?
Yes, the 4th edition contains lined pages for notes.
Which edition of the 2nd ord 3rd, would you recommend for a woman to have?
+Unfeignedhomeschool The 3rd Edition is the only one still available, but it is probably better for women because it's thinner and therefore less bulky. The CMRB 3rd Edition in Lambskin is perfect for a man or a woman really. Blessings.
I agree. This woman has one and I find it to be a real blessing.
WHOOPS! Does this Bible, like Scofield's and Dake's, teach The Gap Theory (I agree with it)??
From the CMRB Editor: "It would be my understanding that Gap Theory implies one is uncertain. I believe there is a Gap of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. It appears to be a time that Lucifer ruled under the delegation of God until Lucifer sinned by pride. It appears the gap would be no more than 2000 years."
Really Cant decide between this one and the Scofield lambskin you guys publish. is there any "quality" difference. ??
They are made with the same lambskin by the same bindery so really no. The Scofield is a little more manageable size that some customers like but that's about it.
Why not offer one with apocrypha?
Hello Gary, the majority of our KJV Bibles do not contain the Apocrypha and as a company, we do not consider the Apocrypha to be Scripture. You can read our more in-depth FAQ on the Apocrypha here: www.thekjvstore.com/f-a-q/#apocrypha
Thank you for taking time to answer.
are those Schofield notes in the Bible?
+Chris L No they are not. The notes are done by Pastor David Hoffman, the publisher and commentator on the Common Man's Reference Bible.
Is this a popular or good selling study bible???
It is one of our best-selling bibles period and definitely one of the best-selling study bibles. It's also the most reviewed product on our site. Blessings.
