Ya know.... with all this awesome Live CAN stuff, you'd think that SPOON records would want to release some of it... That official live double disc is great, but there is obviously a lot more out there... Great band.
i love this live version, it moves much quicker than studio recording. there is a perpetual band playing infinitelly inside my mind's heart. this band has jaki on drums and karoli on strings. there are no singers or bass lines or synths. just jaki crafting grooves, and karoli just jabbing along till the end of time

@zzremington Sorry, guy. As a huge Floyd and Zep fan, I have to say that also as A CAN head, comparing CAN with Floyd and Zep and the others is a futile task. Floyd were nowhere near the level of CAN, who would've left them in dizzy in their wake and Zep would've had some hard work going keeping up. For me though, a show with them two, would've been money well spent. I love them both, for different reasons.
I like your selection, but IMHO there are more, especially when you consider jazz and classical music. My suggestions: Neu!, King Crimson, Kraftwerk, Velvet Underground, Faust, Henry Cow, Van der Graaf Generator

I've loved Can since I was a little kid, and Kanye since he came out. Dude makes music thats light years more interesting than anyone else making big budget rap music.
there are many better drummers... maybe, but no drummer made better music,for me he was the non plus ultra for such a freak-hippie-session-band--they made songs out of their sessions and he hold it all together. And the Bassdrum- and Snaresound of the Canrecords...unbelievable...

Wow Can is so far above average its not funny and they didn't waste their time making love songs for the radio. They are all extremely talented artists nothing average about them.
All rappers are arrogant. Kanye's the only one to ever poke holes in his own mystique. I guess people would realize that if they listened to his groundbreaking music instead of just clips of him on tv running his mouth. Dude gets such a bad rep from so many people who should be appreciating how wide-ranging his influences and the way he applies them to his music are.
