game is not always online, you can play offline, you just cannot progress offline bc of cheating, you can play offline unlike in tdu. Online not bad thing, a lot of games work online only and they are great

Note that at release the game had only few cars available in offline mode. customization too. im afraid it will probably get reverted to that later in EA stages. It is like Gran turismo 7. in offline mode you lose access to around 60% of the game. only few cars available, with little to none customization. good example of how bad the always online patent is. I am worried ACE will be similiar. About cheating... I think it should not matter for singleplayer. you could make it so no currency is frozen... or always offline mode... there are many options to solve the problem. I do not like how many games run on online servers, even when the game is not multiplayer. waste of resources.
Still the same as ACC with the shadow cast by the car in front. Yes, the car in front would cast a shadow from the lights behind, but it's own lights would then light parts of that shadow - here, you can see that the whole shadow is cast against the wall/barrier ahead and it's own lights just hit a bit of the road in front.
I'm 98% sure this is just an optimization choice. More light sources cost performance, and this situation is not something you often see anyway. And sure, they could make it prettier and take the performance hit, but a lot of people still play these games on medium or low anyway, to maximize fps.
This game could really benefit from ray traced lighting. Hopefully they can at least implement some fixes before launch because I feel like the lighting is the only thing holding this back from looking fantastic.
@dcarpenter85 maybe. The shadows are just weird throughout the day. It makes the cars in front look like they're not really driving on the track. They look more like they're floating along on it. This reminds me of Forza Motorsport, though. During races, the cars look just as weird as cars do in that game. The shading, colors, and paint just seem completely off.
@@EATPANT420 usually the cars have some baked shadows that follow them underneath (like here 7:17), tho they disappear at 8:04 for some reason. that wouldn't be a problem if the game just had proper ambient occlusion

The BMW M2 CS in AC Evo is so good. I would say it is better than the M2 in iRacing or ACC.

Most sims don't do any shadow casting from headlights but here you are moaning about ACC and ACEvo.

GT7 doesn't provide options to tweak cockpit cam to your liking and the default position sucks ass.

Weird shadows at night as well, when the cars get near a light on the circuit the shadows from your headlights get bugged.

I mean Day to Night to Day is cool but you can speed the weather by 500 times? Dude you raced only 22 minutes and a full day cycle went through
There is a setting that you can use to speed it up, which is what Steve did here.
