Achim Kohl's are definitely among the very best jazz guitar instruction videos on RUclips for sure. Straight-ahead, nicely organized and extremely informative with no yadda-yadda unnecessary talking and BS------just the fundamental information that you need to improve and expand your playing.
Hi Chase, in German music theory there's no "B" it's a "H" , so the description is correct, but you're right for all of the international users it looks some kind of weird . . .
Achim Kohl what really? Thats weird. Pretty interesting actually. I need to look more into eastern music theory. Is there a specific reason you do that? I assumed that it was either ABCDEFG or either a free or fixed do solfege
Hello Achim, I have a guitar just like yours Gibson es 137 Custom. I like the sound you get from your guitar. What kind of strings are you using? Do you use sound effects? What amp do you use. Any Information is appreciated as I am trying to get the same sound as you. Lee Ramirez
Hi Lee, I'm using d'addario nickel strings 11-49, I don't use an amp for my videos, I play directly in my audio interface (Apollo Twin) adding a little compressor, EQ and reverb, that's all. For live gigs I use a Polytone Mini Brute amp with the G-System from TC electronic, Best regards from Mainz, Germany
Hi Ahim! This lesson 3 very nice. But I want to ask you about tabulaturs for this lesson. On the first page in lick1 I see note"me" as seventh fret on the 5-th string and note "la" as seven fret on the 4-th string. It's not convinience for plaing. But you play in this video note "me" on the 4-th string fret 2 and note "la" on the third string fret 2. What's more better?
Hi, I've been watching your videos recently. I liked it very much. Only that I have a doubt. I am not clear lick no 5 of the major seventh arpeggio, where you add the blue note and say it is Eb. I'm a bit confused since Eb is his third minor. I hope you can help me with this point.
the minor third Eb is a blue note in the key of C major (just like the flat five Gb), that gives the lick a bluesy flavor sounds a little more like Wes Montgomery or Kenny Burrell
It's not a mistake, in Germany a "B" is a "H" and "Bb" is a "B", but outside Germany in English language there is no "H" in music notation, I should have changed that . . .
@@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar thanks I honestly didn't know but your a great player. Thanks for replying. I'm learning jazz to add to Blues... I lost a finger on my right hand. I played bluegrass . after the injury I am relearning
Love the no talking all playing carefully sequenced materials. Experience shows.

H = B
B = B flat

Vladislav Nadkha Sorry, that's a mistake in the tabs, it must be the 2nd fret on the A-string, thanks for your comment, best regards Achim
Seria excelente poner en dibujo la secuencia de los ejercicios
