i have one question: do the chests/hoppers have to be in this zig-zag shape or could they just run downwards like they normaly do? please answere quick😢
What if I want to filter multiple stackable items within a single circuit (Chest), like redstone, sugar, glowstone dust, and gunpowder, all witch drops in a raid farm? I don't want to dedicate circuits for each off those drops, because they aren't the greatest volume. Thanks for these very clear instructions for bedrock.
I love this design and how it takes fewer filter items in the hopper! Would it also work to use red stone dust + target block instead of repeater + solid block on the bottom? Would that help reduce lag on a laggy bedrock realm, or would it not make any difference?
Hey, this is still working great overall! I do have a small issue though. A single item always gets stuck in the hopper below the one with filters in it. I assume it's because the redstone torch re-activates too quickly for the hopper to send all items through, but I can't find a way to fix it. Do you have any solutions? Many Thanks! Besides that small issue, the whole sorting system works perfectly.
Hi. Thank you for the praise. It is indeed because of the redstone turning on quick. However, if you change the redstone, the filter hopper will empty out as well. You could fix that by putting another hopper below that one, facing the same direction into a chest as the others. That will suck out the remaining item. Keep in mind though that the costs of the extra hopper are usually not worth it for that one item to flow down.
My iron farm could supply the costs, i'm sure. Either way though, I won't bother doing that right now - I think I can sacrifice 1 item. Thank you so much for the reply, though!
Hi, thanks for the video. Quick question : will it prevent from overflow then? Like if my chest is full and the hoppers connected to it too, will it broke the whole line like it does with the regular sorting item (the one you showed first)? I built the regular ones and it broke because one item was completely full
Hi, thank you for the kind words. No it will not break with that. As soon as it is full, the items will just go past the specific hopper with that filter and go to the overflow chest. The reason why it cannot break this way (and does break with the regular sorters) is that the redstone circuit is standalone and so the signal of a full section cannot effect the rest.
@@TheRAH wow! Thanks for answering so quickly and with great explanation! That's exactly what I need, gonna go build that on my survival server! Thanks again, your video is much appreciated!
im trying to put it onto my skeleton farm. do i have to do Bone/arrow/bone/arrow or can i do , bone bone bone bone arrow arrow etc. tryin to figure out why some hoppers dont drop everything and some do
im planning on building this in my survival world. but can i use packed ice instead of hoppers on the very top of the sorter? so it can move faster? thanks!
You can, but it is not as reliable as hoppers. The speed is the problem with ice, however in single player survival you might get away with it. Don't be surprised you get more sortable items in you overflow/output chest.
would it be okay to use a different type of item elevator, like one that uses a hopper chain? it's more expensive but also silent and lossless. or is there some limitation to this design that makes it need a bubble elevator?
No, no limit at all. Any item delivery system will work, as long as you don't overflow the hoppers with items it will work. Apart from being cheap to make, I always like to use the bubblevators as it has a more industrial conveyor look to it with items going through them.
I'm having an issue with this design where poppies from an iron golem farm just stack up in the filter hopper and don't get transferred to the hopper below
Assuming the chests with poppies are not yet filled up to the brim; That probably means that the hopper below that is locked by a redstone signal. Few things you can check: Check if you don't have an extra redstone torch somewhere that locks that hopper. Check if the redstone circuit behind the hoppers is complete. If one piece is missing, the circuit will not let the hopper unlock. It must have something to do with the redstone either extra locking the hopper or something in the circuit that is missing, making it not work like it should.
This is part of the Clear Vanilla pack which can be found on the MCPEDL site. Mind you that this pack changes way more things. Check the addon page to see what.
My filter item keeps falling into the bottom hopper idk what i did wrong. i have the first 4 items as 4 stacks of 5 cobble renamed filter and the filter item is gold nuggets it holds 2 but as soon as it gets one more it removes all but the cobble and leaves the filter slot open
If I'm not mistaken, you need to have the filter item in the first slot and the renamed cobble in the last 4 slots. I'm pretty sure hoppers will always empty the 1st slot first when unlocked.
Nope, that is not possible with this system. That would break the whole thing. For that I don't have a tutorial, but you can search Multiple item sorter for that. Loads of good ones out there.
I'm sorry, but I wont be making a video with that. The reason for this is that Minecarts might be fast, but the items still need to be sorted and passed through hoppers. This poses two problems: The speed of the hoppers is still the same as in any other system and the items will slow down in them. Plus the redstone needs to lock the sorting part again and that cannot be done in a good small fashion that is fast enough when done at higher speed. On Java there is a way to achieve this, albeit quite big and that sorts quite a bit faster, on Bedrock however this is not (yet) possible due to the way redstone behaves.
Unfortunately not. This will break the system and everything will just flow into the chests without sorting. To be able to do this, you need a multi item sorter.
Best way to do this is to alter the input and connect it to that. Basically what you want to create is a general underground input that goes into the sorter. You can connect any other item stream from farms or the item input box to this. This video has a few ideas like that in it: ruclips.net/video/6X_fHB1Xe9E/видео.html

Be aware that you cannot go too far out, because render distance (usually 4 chunks) makes the redstone work. Anything out of range will not work.
Then you probably forgot a piece of redstone, mainly the redstone torch to lock the hoppers. Check the whole circuit for what you've missed. Let me know how it turned out.
