No surprise Arc'teryx puts out near perfect marketing. Great copy. Great editing. And - her voice and pacing is refreshing. I want to work for you guys!
I got this video as an ad on RUclips and I though it was so impressively made that I looked it up, which is how I ended up here. Like I said, very well made video, it‘s a straight up documentation which nice editing, props to Arc‘teryx!
I've got my Alpha SV in 2013 (v4.0?). It was a replacement of an old Patagonia Ice Nine jacket, a 2002 model that had been a copy attempt of the first Alpha SV in 2001. My current Alpha SV has survived icy summits in the Alps, rough granite walls in Patagonia and challenging treks in the Himalayas. Well worth the price of admission to the best alpine climbing jacket in history. Up there with the Fjallraven Vidda Pro pants, Patagonia Capilene + R1 fleece + DAS Parka, the Castelli Gabba jersey and the Nike Air Jordan 1 in the pantheon of iconic sport gear.
This was such a great video, thanks for this! I have had thirteen different Arc'teryx jackets, and I currently have seven different Arc'teryx jackets in the closet. Well, two Atom SL, everything must be grey, but I had to have that 24K black when it was offered a few years ago. The one I miss most was my Atom SV that I gave away to a guy on the street in Portland, OR, who needed it more than me. I still have my very first jacket, the Beta AR that I bought from you back in 2013 that is still like new! Keep pumping out the great gear Arc'teryx!
do you will recommend me the cerium hoody? is it arcteryx only good on their hard shell? or isn’t it their insulation also good? because i want to buy it but for -10 until 15 celcius
@@Peyovero I really liked the Cerium Hoody. I had the original in the Admiral color. I wear a medium, but had to sell it due to sizing, fitting too tight around the mid-section. I bought the revised version, but returned it for the same reason, having found out later that they revised the sizing in all sizes, except for the medium size. The jacket should work fine for you with just a t shirt against the skin at 15 Celsius, but above that the jacket may be too warm to wear. At the 15 Celsius range I wear the Atom LT. As for the lower temp at the -10 Celsius range, you should be just fine with a nice, warm merino against the skin and possibly a neck gaiter. In those colder temps, if you must deal with any serious windchill factor, I would be using the Cerium Hoody as a mid layer as it was designed to be used. And just a note as stand alone jacket, Arc'teryx did increase the outer face fabric from a 10 denier up to a 15 denier fabric in their latest revision. Hope this helps?
@@Peyovero I should also add that if you do find you are having any issues with fitment wearing the Cerium Hoody, I highly recommend going to the Thorium, I have the Thorium Hoody jacket and I really like it in all respects. As far as the down used by Arc'teryx it is absolutely first-rate down, absolutely excellent down. With the Cerium Hoody using 850 and the Thorium using 750, I actually find the Thorium for me to be just as warm of an insulator. And of course the Thorium works just great as stand alone jacket, as it is designed to be used.
My first Arc'teryx piece was a 2009 Alpha SV, made in Canada and it was revolutionary when compared to the heavy and stiff North Face jackets the preceded it. Hey, Arc - please consider some more innovation in the synthetic insulation category! We've got to get closer to down's warmth/weight sooner or later!
Is it to much to ask for a 7 in 1 type jacket with all the bow hunting, tactical and ice fishing features like camo, water proof and wind proof, zipper under arm, silent fabic, harness port, thumb hole cuffs, hood and gaiter, tactical pocket placement and float tech or do we have to keep buying seperate items?
The only issue with the hoods is that it makes the jacket bad for anything where you don't wear a helmet, like hiking and camping. No helmet on and the any headwind will just blow that hood of you head.
It’s a shame the quality went so downhill, I’ve ordered 2 sv’s in the last 3 weeks and both had to be retuned due to being poorly constructed, my venom sv in 2015 was far superior to what they ship out now
@@topherhancock hes talking out of his ass lol, ive ordered 5 brand new arcteryx jackets, mainly ski shells, one being a Sabre SV, had 0 issues with my jackets. either dude is insanely unlucky or lying

the best series by a design team on the internet right now. very similar level to At The Museum by MOMA
Nicely done Arc'teryx! I normally skip these ads but instead got stuck this one till the end!

Just ordered the Alpha SV to add to my extensive ArcTeryx collection. You guys are beyond awesome!
So great seeing real innovation happening at such a high level for such a long time... from the beginning. kudos.
Amazing document from arcteryx
I inherited my dad's 1998 Beta LT Jacket, and it's still my go-to jacket after a bit of seam repair.
That 50/50 Jacket looks so cool.
Really want that one, mixed with different color.

Wow. Great job, guys! 👍😍❤️
That was awesome

I love the Alpha Sv it would be so cool to work for Arcteryx
I am in love
I am obsessed
Cool little video
Thank you
Is that the one that is now made in China, as stated on your website, but not for every country ??? A little bit of clarification would be great.
Cool video!
Bring back the Sidewinder, please
I don't know what ice picks the people at Arc'teryx are using, because my tools weigh twice that of theirs...
The best jacket I'm not qualified to wear
The only issue with the hoods is that it makes the jacket bad for anything where you don't wear a helmet, like hiking and camping. No helmet on and the any headwind will just blow that hood of you head.
Sorry, but that’s like saying a hammer isn’t good for cutting wood. Versatility isn’t the objective here.
These shells are designed for climbing. There are other shells with smaller hoods for hiking and causal use.
The alpha sv is a climbing jacket not a hiking jacket unfortunately most people don’t realize that
@@benjaminstevens8641 I have a Beta AR, is that also a climbing jacket?
I can not believe that. Arcteryx literally has the best fitting hood in the industry. Is your head above average small?
It’s a shame the quality went so downhill, I’ve ordered 2 sv’s in the last 3 weeks and both had to be retuned due to being poorly constructed, my venom sv in 2015 was far superior to what they ship out now
Elaborate?

If only you guys could make pants for normal size people too
现在的始祖鸟 不是户外用品 是奢侈品😂
just saying I unfollowed your insta because you posted the queer flag. No need
The narration felt really out of place, I feel like this could have been a lot better without that voiceover and a bit slower paced.
