- In this part, we learn that we still don't have a good enough team to get into the Cooper Vault and go looking for an Explosives Expert. We decide the our former enemy, the Panda King is the best of the best and head to China to get him. Once we arrive we work our way over to him and enter his mind thanks to the Guru. Once inside we fight him in a memory of the past, and make him sad to bring him back to reality. We then make a deal to rescue his daughter from General Tsao in return for his help on getting to the Cooper Vault.
I admit, I was nervous about this idea, but it did present an interesting twist to the story and it really brought out another side to an old enemy. The Panda King wasn't really a terrible person, he was just angry towards those who treated him badly. I can't say I blame him for his decisions even though they weren't exactly justifiable.

The truth is panda king is definitely not a bad person even though he was a member of the fiendish five and though he did have a part in the death of sly’s parents even though he wasn’t directly responsible for the death like clockwerk was he just has a short fused temper and feels from his past he was treated badly since the rich nobleman couldn’t see the fireworks he created for them past his shabby clothes and chased him off.
I don’t blame panda King for being humiliated and wanting revenge against them they totally deserve that they were greedy scumbags in every way and panda king is absolutely no scum bag in anyway.

Wait...so...can Sly actually die while he is in the Panda King's mind? That makes the Guru's powers...terrifyingly godlike.

Honestly, I didn't notice it the first time when I played the game a few years ago.
I gotta admit the panda is my favorite character in the game for who he is and how he looks
Yeah, if only the Chinese nobility thought the same way. (When Panda King was a child, he presented them with his fireworks, which he spent a decade perfecting, only to be rejected on account of his clothes and low status.)

This video proves how stupid the twist in the next game is. How does Penelope go from having a crush on Sly to hating him for no apparent reason? It's ridiculous! They clearly put no thought into it.

I never got up to the final level in the first game. I got stuck in Haiti and stopped playing from there. When I started playing Sly 2, I had no idea who the hell this Clockwerk guy was. And when I got to China in this game, I didn't know anything about the Panda King.
What happens if you defeat Panda King in his mind?
I think you run out of options before then or you have to start the battle all over again.
You run out of options before that happens. I exhausted all of them when trying to snap him out of his trance.
Imagine if Muggshot was part of the gang, but obviously it wouldn't work out since he's still a bad guy and a dumbass. However we have our brawn of the gang, The Murray
My PS2 would always freeze in this episode because I took too long to beat Flight of Fancy.
