Lionel there is NO OTHER WAY - 1000% on the Bike 1000% on the run. No other way!!!!!!!!!! Crush it!!!!!!
Its so awesome how you always make the time for a fan photo. Amazing ambasador for the sport.
I think he's going to surprise all of us
..Except some of us won't be surprised at all.
I always root for Lionel and hope he podiums
This was the best vlog yet. The golfing was hilarious
I love how forthcoming you guys are with all of this data. 🙌
Lionel seems to be in a good place mentally and with the baby on the way.. extra motivation. He could do some damage in that race 💪
Love the new 180 rear disc (not a disc) wheel 5:15 👍 From HED site: _"The 180 is designed to go very fast and handle great in all wind conditions. It is a simple concept that has proven itself quite complicated to execute. If you’re racing where aero discs are not allowed, where extreme crosswinds are likely, or if you just don’t want a full aero disc - we hear you. The 180 is your wheel."_
9:12 remember to ride them in for 2-3 hours as the Canyon boys suggested.
when i put tubeless on my bike it was definitely trial and error. 24h later one wheel was flat, still flat after adding air. you really need to shake them like crazy whilst off the bike, and then ride them. transporting my bike laying flat in the back of my vehicle with that back wheel turning was what finally got it to fully seal. i hope they troubleshoot everything before race day!
@@vivagirl72 it's the classic case that every coach tells you "don't try anything new on race day". So hopefully between now and Saturday they can sort that out and iron out any kinks.
Best part of this video....by far...Talbot hits the ground a foot behind the ball, the massive wind gust/dirt spray from the club head propels the ball 2 inches off the tee and Lionel says there you go now on to the next...glad this was included!!!
Lionel class act as usual, about to dive into the pool, stops and takes a pic, pure gold!
Good idea to switch to tubeless, but astonishing to be doing it at this late stage. Don't forget your bacon rashers!
I agree. I would change a thing.
Do they require sealant to install or not this type of tubeless?
@@Mike.A. yes, sealant required
For 5 Watts at this level worth to take the "risk"
@@cracked229 yeah but it’s a pain in the arse to change if you do flat
Big up Skipper ! Mile 25 on the bike let's get it baby
This vid was one of the funniest out of the series.
Loving the content.
The real star of the show, Anne Hed!!!!!!!!
It’s your time sir, it’s your time! Will be watching from New Zealand.
It’s really nice to see Lionel looking super relaxed and enjoying himself with everyone. That’s what the sport should be about
That is a brave move to change tire systems right before your race 😬 But you have a host of experts there 👍 Good Luck on Saturday!
its on the flat, on a straight strip of road but yea not great
Talbot's golf commentary is hilarious
I need it as an ASMR for ngiht time
If you have a flat with your tubeless setup you can still put in an innertube and continue the race, only thing is you’ll have tomremove the valve from the rim. A fix which can be performed in under 3 minutes so no risk taken by going for tubeless in my opinion
I love how the pros hang out with each other and the banter is great
I love when Skipper starts getting worked up. Dude always has me dying…
Skipper is a legend 😂
I’m pulling for the junkyard dog to podium. He’s in fantastic form.
Good thing you're getting the pressure right. Just sad you're not on the proper frame. Good luck on Saturday. And tuck these knees in cowboy! Knees to the stem! Go get em!
Sanders still eats like a dinosaur! Micahl got to teach some culinary modals to that mouster! You guys having much fun! Whatch out with that rear wheel on crosswinds......
I am sending from Brazil good vibes, my friend.
I am sure you're gonna destroy at Kona this time.
Really appreciate this series
It would be crazier if the rear tyre was mounted the right way round😉
Something I could be better than Lionel at, GOLF!! 🤣🤣 Love the content guys. Thank you.
Love this vlogs lol, been really enjoying them
Crazy wheel setup...yesss
lined up right into the trees!! :D
You are making a great choice with those tt tdf tyres!
Another great vlog. Super entertaining!
The time for lactate has passed. Lactate is for training guy you're distracting yourself from the race. By now you know your body, it's time to go with the flow #nolimits
No limits 💪💪
Win or lose i still am going to be happy for lionel. I know he is going to perform his best on race day
I could watch 'triathletes who golf' with commentary all day!
NO LIMITS!
I'm always surprised when Tri-athletes are running sub-par equipment on their bikes. Hopefully all the marginal gains will result in a good outcome. Lionel's helmet straps should be cut so they don't flap in the wind and maybe he should put on aero valve stem covers. Not sure if he is using aero skewers on his wheels or a wax lubed chain. How about a wind-tunnel test from his sponsor, Canyon?
Be surprised no more: he runs ceramic speed chain for races (faster than wax), has done aero work with both Canyon and LG, aero stem shields are slower than running the minimum length stem without a shield, and disc wheels don't have skewers.
And yet it’s still 1/3 of the race…
@@zwtvchannel it’s not… 4 hours on the bike, 8 hrs total time means the bike is half the race.
Your biggest friend with tubeless is to carry the Stan’s DART system with 4 darts ready to go at all times.
Experimenting in the race! (With tyres this time around). Peak Lionel LOL
Kumon! Go Lionel! Go!!!
Love the Vlogs way better than Kona series.
Kaiden hacking away at that lawn had me dying
3:08 uh oh, Lionel got Mikal saying "undoubtedly" :D
Lionel is hitting it where he is aiming it. Watch the foot line.
Lional, don't do it, 73 psi tubeless is not faster than 120 psi GP 5000 with a latex tubes on a smooth road. GP Performance showed that there is a 1 kph speed increase with the high pressure clinchers on a smooth road over a 73 psi tubeless setup. 73 psi tubeless is faster on a rough road, but Kona gernerally has smooth tarmac, so go with the GP 5000s with latex tubes at say 100 psi. By the way a rim brake bike is more aero than a disc brake bike. Physics does not lie, but obviously it's too late to switch. All your competition are riding discs, so that's even. There is absolutely no advatage using a disc brake bike in a TT in bone dry Kona. The last time I checked, the goal here is to not use your brakes and only use them twice - at the turnaround and at the end of the bike leg.
Lionel, your feet are lining up your golf shots to go left. 😉
The play by play golfing commentary 😂
ohh this year will be very interesting. Joe Skipper darkhorse? Lieto giving these guys tips on how to beat a runner? Maybe he learned some secrets from his duel with Alexander.
Tubeless is the bomb. Question the data about “faster” whenever it comes from the company, but the science says the lower pressure run on tubeless is for sure faster, unless tested on a steel drum of velodrome
Hold ice in your hands!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the numbers are way out there compared to what I would have expected from the bar/psi to watts gained....what are those numbers "gained" on?
It actually turns me more in he way of thinking it's a tech competition on the bike, I know he still pushes the watts!!!
Best of luck, from a fan, take the risks, better to die on the battle field than never get there.
As I head out to the shops on my Malvern Star.............ho hum.....
They better hope the crosswinds are mellow on Saturday that rear wheel would be scary to use on a windy day.
Rear wheels have nearly no effect on stability in windy conditions. The disc-ban is grounded in tradition more than logic. Changing the front wheel from 30mm to 60mm in the front has a bigger effect on crosswind stability than going from 30mm to a disc in the rear.
Nope, its the front wheel depth that causes issue with handling in heavy wind
Talbot Cox. please, for thé love of everything, convince Lionel to do an “18 hole golf day with Lionel” giveaway. Gotta have it.
Hi, are you going to look at the pace in your forms during swim? Does it help you to pace your swim?
Doubt he will use them in the race.
Let’s relax, by playing golf…
Talbot you're abusing on Skipper's laugh 😅😅
Can't wait for people in the comments to start sending golf swing advice now
wow and I thought you guys could play golf !
What brand and model Is the lactate equipment he is using?
🏌️♂️⛳
The essential taper step is "undoubtedly" the Big Volcanic Kahuna dump on Sat morning...
🌋🌋🌋
I have just become a huge Joe Skipper fan! Doesn’t give Bob Babbitt a word in edgewise and he pronounces the #3….”free”
Brazilians everywhere 🇧🇷
Never seen Lionel with a shirt.
Are they saying that it’s better to ride with 5 bar tired ??
What am I gonna do without a video every day???
same thoughts here
Talbot should switch career to professional golf commentator haha
Lfg🎉
Nobody:
Skipper: *I’m from Manchester*
lol at least I could whip lionels ass in golf :)
Nice Divot Talbot PGA Divot 😂
A wedge divot with his driver. 😂
I hope there is not such a thing as "Lactate Ear", where you get poked so many times that it swells up like a pufferfish.
😂😂😂😂
Where is the spa!
Has Skippers ear stopped bleeding?
Ha ha Lionel! You guys are mind fucking everyone! Kristian is watching the blog and goes - fuck Lionel has the fastest bike setup! 😂
should stick with latex, its as fast as tubeless.
Yeah, with the Schwalbe Aerothan tubes it's faster as far as I know. Unless a new tubeless came out in the last few months.
Tubeless could end up in tears.
Latex is faster than tubeless, in reality. Every RR test that shows they are equal uses just 10-20ml of sealant, but who runs so little?
I'm so skeptical of these way savings claims by bike companies. If you add up the savings claims for wheels, tires, skinsuit, aero socks, etc you're supposedly doing 350 watts "equivalent" despite putting out 305 watts. Doubtful.
😂 😂😂 you can coast up & down the QK at 40k/hr
I was wondering if you'd play some golf.
Man a few days out and you are trying a new tyre set up?
Something new on race day !
I too suck at golf
Lionel dressed up…
Does anyone know the Pros tire setup? It sounds like Conti. GP 5000, tubeless 73LBS, what is the tire size? Do they use something like Stans sealant?
I'd imagine 28s for lower rolling resistance
GP5k TT, which is faster and more puncture prone than standard GP5kS. Likely 25mm tires for his low weight and decent road conditions. Id bet 28mm would be slower for him on this course.
What're you doing Bert?
Why is Lionel using TT bike instead of triathlon one like others sponsored by Canyon?
The rear tyre is on the wrong way
Just don't want a flat at 60km/hr on a tubeless.
If everyone jumps off a bridge? ...
Touché.. He’s ballsy change his set up this close.
Pull the flag when your putting geez
Why did you have to talk about getting a flat! Stop jinxing yourself!!!
You all don't give up your day jobs to be pro golfers LOL
So by the sounds of it, self sabotage is in full swing again 🤦🤦🤦 you only race on what's been tried in training dude...lol
I wish you the worst!!! Fortunately, I wish everyone else the super worst. All competitors almost drown, everyone crashes on their bike, shoes come off.......but you will win, crawling..... Gladiator style......everyone recovers :) then you all fight lions. lol
who would have thought watching a bunch of world class triathletes play golf would be fun lol
