So why do the bracket? After removing the extra plastic from the dash wouldn't the replacement speaker drop right in and mount up to the existing holes? Great work as always guys!
Thanks for posting this! I am looking into buying one of these Titans and running a 3 way up front with the midranges in the dash as shown here. I'd probably 3D scan and print up some adapters and get the midrange right against the grilles, but that's just me.
It all depends on the speaker. In this case, that mid is designed for free air use, just like the factory speaker. Most mids are. It's pretty rare to find a small mid designed for a little sealed chamber. Also, there's really no easy way for them to enclose the back side of the driver.
I've watched 5 Star forever...this is the most modification to a dash/speaker location I've seen them do....
I laughed pretty hard at that intro. Keep up the good work!

I was wondering the same thing
I’m thinking that the bracket is to reinforce the location that the speaker mounts, they cut away all of the structure to make it fit.
@chrish352 now that would make sense
The focal speaker is bigger than stock one.
That’s an awesome speaker mount
That’s why you guys are the best

What’s the point of the bracket?
The speaker is bigger than stock, so it needs reinforcement.
Can I please purchase some of those speaker brackets? Front and rear door brackets
Do you run thoses freeair in dash, or do you enclose them?
