The different bumper on the toe in the 90s was so sick pretty much one of my favorite chill, skate, mow lawn, beach, anything shoe. It was so squishy in that insole. I never knew it was kind of skate specific. I got a bunch of them at big five when everyone got pumas. I got a bunch of air walks at big five too the next year, blammos and galaxies.

Yeah I like that toe bumper too. The 90s re issue was not made strictly as a skate shoe it’s just that when Converse decided to re introduce the shoe they chose to only advertise them in skate mags and give them to people in that industry as a way to market it as a “counter culture’ and ‘cool’ shoe …..as it was a good skate shoe and much like todays marketing - brands try to get their items on whoever is gonna drive the culture from the bottom up and appeal to a certain market. It sounds like you came up on some great deals back in the day!

I remember one stars having a run at Payless shoe source. I've always been a big fan of this model. I'm one of the nonconformist back then.

Yeah they had a few bankruptcies and were poorly managed until Nike purchased them and their debts in 2003. Thanks for you comment I love this model too. ✌🏼
