NYT is doing what's known as "false balance". Basically, because Israel's bombardment of Gaza has been so vengeful, indiscriminate and devastating, whenever reporters and journalists try their best to be impartial and tell the truth, no matter how unbiased they are, they'll always end up producing articles that would make most people sympathetic to the Palestinians, and Israel does not want that. Most Jewish-Americans (excluding the young leftists) don't want that either, because that sort of "narrative" is harmful to Jews, inside and outside of Israel. With mainstream media it's always Israel "says", Hamas "claims"; Israelis are "killed" by Palestinian terrorists but Palestinians "die" in airstrikes (sometimes referred to as "bombings") that are never directly attributed to Israel.
Actually the Israelis are the ones demonized. You people do not bat an eye when they are killed.

I can not imagine the pain and fear this woman had to endure. I had three c-sections myself because I couldn't deliver my babies naturally. Seeing all this destruction going on I wonder what kind of future these babies will have? War unfortunately is ugly and people will die on all sides involved with this. My parents were born during World War II. If I had to make a decision whether to bring another child into this World I would probably not have another child. That is just my opinion. Every person is different. I wish that these babies will survive and thrive, regardless of the circumstances.
You sound like someone who has no idea about this conflict. The systematic killing, displacement and oppression of Palestinians has been going on for more than 75 years.
