I’m hearing that the ps3 games that Sony is offering as part of the service has to be streamed…….sigh 😩 I am so happy that I kept my ps3 slim all these years. Quite a few games I have downloaded on that system is delisted ie TMNT remake and NCAA football 14. I’m hoping that my ps3 last for as long as I live……the ps3 emulation looks promising as far as on the pc……🤔 interesting Sony can’t figure out the ps3 emulation……….
I think it’s just laziness on their part, at this stage. The PS5 is a pretty powerful system and if anyone is capable of working out PS3 emulation it should be Sony themselves.

A better comparison would be to Xbox Game Pass for Xbox, which is only $9.99 a month and gives access to Xbox games only (including backwards compatible titles), though you can still stream them to PC. I didn't think it was possible to make Game Pass look even better but Sony has found a way somehow. Premium is garbage DO NOT get it or at least wait for a decent sale for the year subscription. Paying for Backwards Compatibility and Cloud Saves? Streaming only for PS3 games? And no Day 1 releases of PS4/PS5 games? They show you big numbers and leave crucial features off the table. I'm honestly scratching my head at some of Sony's business decisions when it comes to Playstation this gen. Last gen, all they had to do was keep putting out decent games at a fair price and the consoles and games sold themselves. This gen, not content with squeezing people who are already financially challenged with higher game prices, they want to sell us a pointless tiered rebranding of PS Plus and PS Now. If you have to explain what you're offering at length because the consumer might struggle to understand it, then you're already making a rod for your own back. Sony still can't emulation playstation 3 game I can literally do that on my computer . as for service it's probably not worth it for me I mainly play on pc.
I'm sad that the ps+ i had for 5 years that library is all gone now & games i had in my library are only available with premium now. So they took back everything i paid for for years. So screw that. Not gonna give them more to get back what i had. Sad really
My teenage kids' tiers wont change (they'll stay at £49.99 per year - they're not into all the back compat rubbish! They only use their consoles for a couple of online games) so I really don't see what the new differences are (other than the games available)......?!
Honestly thinking about it, it feels a bit deceptive. Casual gamers or parents comparing consoles will be drawn to the Xbox because of Game Pass, and so Sony has shuffled their services so they can go “look we have one too!” hoping that people don’t look at the details to notice the caveats.
I can't believe people can't see the value of this service. Playstation has 5 times more games & 20 times more quality games than Xbox. Day & date release is also detrimental to game producers, that's why gamepass is not profitable yet. Also, use this new service before you judge it. This is also going to attract lots of children & casual gamers too

I am currently subscribed to PS Now and PS Plus and this “new” service is just a rebranding of those, with very little that is actually new. The only real difference is the introduction of tiers, which makes it more confusing for those kids and casual gamers that you think it will attract.
If you do the "MATH" and take into account how quality games are made; $15 a month x 12 months x 48 million subscribers, doesn't cut it when you talk about games like: Horizon, GOW, Spiderman, ghost of tsushima, TLOU, e.t.c. Its doesn't work, you'd have to increase the number of subscribers or increase the price of monthly subscription substantially! Do you know what 💰 it takes to make games like: GOW, Horizon, GOT, e.t.c

I definitely think PlayStation needs a rethink. Some of their business decisions lately have been pretty anti-consumer. The most obvious example of that is GT7, which is just ridiculous, but it's not the only thing. This service, such as it is, leaves an awful lot to be desired. It's not really that different from what we have already with PS Plus and PS Now. It's a shame as I had high hopes, even while I suspected this might be what we'd get.
I used to get psnow and ps plus in sale every year so the whole thing costed me 80-85 bucks . I knew this was gonna happen, people kept asking for the dumb idea of merging the subscriptions like this wasn't gonna happen 🤦

Paystation is a sham. They are basically making you pay for the right to buy paystation games behind the top plan. Soon you wont be able to buy games without being subbed to the top tier game. I have the feeling that Sony's new PS Plus model is very Japanese. It's like how Nintendo would do it. They stuck very much in the past and are ignoring the alternatives their costumers have nowadays. Sony thinks that quality is enough and quality is of course important but they seem to forget that Microsoft game studios aren't just one big monolith but dozens of studios that have a lot of quality titles as well. Nintendo is able to stay in the business because they are in a niche market but Sony is in a direct competitor to Microsoft and most games are third party anyway. That means that I can buy a XBOX if I'm no longer satisfied with my Playstation and I can play most games I've played on my old system anyway. I love my series s.😍 It sits in my living room hooked up to a 60 inch 1080p tv and the games looks gorgeous! I’m 42 years old and played the ps1 in my teens so all current graphics looks good to me. I even take my series s to coffee shops and public libraries with a 10 inch monitor and game that way. It’s now ranked in my top 3 consoles of all time, the ps3 is first, followed by ps1.

Unfotunately fanboys will always fail when it comes to logic. I think Game Pass is pretty good at present and it will only get better. Sony copying the idea is no bad thing but I'm not entirely sure that they are. Itr looks more like a rebrand of PS Now and while I don't think PS Now is as bad as some people claim, the lack of day and date titles and the need to stream PS3 titles really does hobble it somewhat. I'll give it a fair go when it launches (tomorrow in the UK as I write this) but I do think they need to address the failings I mention if they really want to compete with Game Pass. We shall see, though.
Small correction Joe, PS+ currently offers 3, sometimes 4 monthly games. So the new PS+ base subscription is objectively a downgrade. Either way, the whole thing is a cats lunch.

Preface: To the "but" statements that will be said, I know. I get it, I understand, but all the same, here we go: I wish MS would tell Sony to get off their servers. That would basically shut down streaming in the west for PSNow. Amazon web services would be awful and they would say no anyways because they also stream games. What's Sony going to do? Build infrastructure? Stream from their servers in Japan to the literal opposite side of the planet? Again, I know, but all of that short-term suffering might make Sony inclined to ditch streaming altogether and make ps3 games downloadable. When left alone to come up with stuff we get stuff like PS Plus Premium.
There are two problems I see here off the top of my head. First, Microsoft make money from Sony using their servers, so it's a win for them. Sony would just go to someone like Amazon if they couldn't use MS's servers and that would not be a good business move for MS. Second, streaming is the future whether we like it or not. Sony aren't going to move away from a service model that will only become more viable over time, not less. I hope they make PS3 games available to download instead of streaming (the tech is there to do it) but I'm not entirely sure they will. The only thing that will push them in that direction is if fans continue to ignore their service because it is so reliant on streaming. They might change tack in the short to medium term in that case, and make PS3 games downloadable. Long term, though, streaming is where everything is headed.

$3 more per month than Game Pass Ultimate and far fewer features. No mobile streaming is a huge miss in 2022 I think.

I'm a real xbox fan. no fake shit and honestly as much times xbox struggled on with much stuff and seeing Sony getting new games after new, i still never gave up on xbox because I knew exactly what xbox was planning... but honestly what really cross my attention is the fact EVERY SINGLE year, did anyone ever realize the only thing Sony fan boys ever said what was better than xbox was just GAMES. literally nothing else lol which for now may be true tbh because spider man was my all time favorite marvel hero and damn it I do get jealous asf Sony has Spiderman games and not Xbox but obviously now Xbox done a huge move by now making not only just Sony fan boys jealous but also the company of Sony which by Xbox gamepass that Sony seriously trying so hard to copy Xbox on 🤷♂️🤦♂️ so all in all if something is 100% better than the other than why tf would it make sense to copy it 😒🤦♂️🤦♂️ and also for the record Xbox is just not only about games, it's also more than just that than with Sony is just all about games. now yes don't get it mistaken people love playing games after games but in reality as much fun any games can be, they can get boring so with that being said, if you got a console that is just only about games and nothing else in it, it's gonna get tiring once in a while 🤷♂️ just saying.... so from a old Sony fan since ps1, I am not saying nothing bad at all about Sony as much as you hard hating fan boys try coming at Xbox but all I'm saying don't talk shit about something that what you guys say suck but sadly got the company you adore is running out of ideas and copying another company yal hate and talk shit on
Unfotunately fanboys will always fail when it comes to logic. I think Game Pass is pretty good at present and it will only get better. Sony copying the idea is no bad thing but I'm not entirely sure that they are. Itr looks more like a rebrand of PS Now and while I don't think PS Now is as bad as some people claim, the lack of day and date titles and the need to stream PS3 titles really does hobble it somewhat. I'll give it a fair go when it launches (tomorrow in the UK as I write this) but I do think they need to address the failings I mention if they really want to compete with Game Pass. We shall see, though.
Small correction Joe, PS+ currently offers 3, sometimes 4 monthly games.
So the new PS+ base subscription is objectively a downgrade.

It's really not that bad. It's for people that want to be able games to play more games. If you can't afford it then don't get it. Its that simple.I prefer to buy the games but that's just me.
I like it having options is a good thing i have both consoles an play on both because i live video games and im happy to have playstation and xbox because if there was only xbox or only playstation things would be bad. If you like love videos you get what i mean

Watch there barley be any psp,ps1 and ,ps2 games there. Psnow had ps2 games as in advertisements they had ps2 compatibility and it’s pathetic in practice. It’s literally gonna be like psnow is now just a bunch of streaming ps3 games fluff ps4 games and Ps5 games eventually only due to the fact their won’t be new ps4 games for long 💀

Preface: To the "but" statements that will be said, I know. I get it, I understand, but all the same, here we go:
I wish MS would tell Sony to get off their servers. That would basically shut down streaming in the west for PSNow. Amazon web services would be awful and they would say no anyways because they also stream games. What's Sony going to do? Build infrastructure? Stream from their servers in Japan to the literal opposite side of the planet?
Again, I know, but all of that short-term suffering might make Sony inclined to ditch streaming altogether and make ps3 games downloadable. When left alone to come up with stuff we get stuff like PS Plus Premium.
There are two problems I see here off the top of my head. First, Microsoft make money from Sony using their servers, so it's a win for them. Sony would just go to someone like Amazon if they couldn't use MS's servers and that would not be a good business move for MS. Second, streaming is the future whether we like it or not. Sony aren't going to move away from a service model that will only become more viable over time, not less. I hope they make PS3 games available to download instead of streaming (the tech is there to do it) but I'm not entirely sure they will. The only thing that will push them in that direction is if fans continue to ignore their service because it is so reliant on streaming. They might change tack in the short to medium term in that case, and make PS3 games downloadable. Long term, though, streaming is where everything is headed.
