Watching legacies and looking back at all the classic moments from all three shows... it’s CRAZY all of the insanely horrible things they’ve done to each other and then by the next season they’re besties like it never even happened because new horrible shit is constantly happening. Example- Stefan killed your soulmate resulting in severe psychic trauma, the likes of which has only been seen one other time in all of history. *three days later* “Hop in bitches! We’re going to kill the devil! If human Stefan can pull it off we’re square!”

Why did they come to new Orleans? Why did Freya return? Why did they kill their aunt Dahlia? Why did they consecrate their mother in NO? Why did Klaus sacrifice himself? Most of the show was focused on the Mikaelson family trying to keep Hope alive and safe. The family will forget about Hope and all moments that involved her, but how will their current situation make sense to them? Alaric and Landon still knew each other, but in their memories, how did they meet? From what I understood, the pit simply erased the person's existence, it did not create false memories to replace the real ones.
