I have lived in the remote West. I found this film very true to life. It captured the people, the land, and the towns. The movie caused me to reflect. In a way, it was disturbing.
3 separate story lines. Interesting enough vignettes, but I didn't see any connect between the three stories. What I got out of it was there's not always a happy ending and life goes on.
There was literally no point at all to the Michelle Williams storyline. I can NOT believe this movie was made. The chick who wrote it needs to learn about the art of storytelling.
Normally I like indie/alternative movies, but this one......so, so bad. There was literally no point to the Michelle Williams storyline. It's what you see in the trailer - a married woman that seems to hate her husband, as they roam around trying to get some old guy to give them the chunks of rock from his yard. That is LITERALLY IT. The Laura Dern attorney storyline was more happening, as it involves a hostage situation. And the only thing that was good about the Lily Gladstone/Kristen Stewart storyline was that you get to see some spectacular Montana scenery. That storyline in general really FEELS Montana. But it's a pointless story as well. Nothing happens. No character development. No progress of anything. I truly can't believe this movie was made. The writer/director has to have had connections to get it done, because if she didn't, and she was a true nobody, the script would have been rejected by every studio. She needs to learn the art of storytelling and character development. And again, this is coming from somebody who normally digs indie movies, as well as movies with negative endings, and movies that depict real life in a way that's so realistic that it becomes almost triggering to watch. So that says a lot about just how bad this movie was. !!
completely agree, interesting scenery and atmosphere in some of the scenes but the story telling felt half complete and I just had a feeling that the film ended abruptly. Shame because the actors were really good.
I love indie movies, but this one was really boring to me. It's peaces of ordinary lifes shown realistically, witch I love, but I didn't see any point in it. Boring as hell. The only character I found interesting was kristen stewart's. I had to take breaks in the entire movie, it was a struggle.
@@user-jz4kw7dv9u @1:54 Laura Dern says that it would be lovely to think that if she were a man people would listen and say okay. That's not how it works for men.
… “always”? fuck off. the vast majority of films center heterosexual people. three of the four main characters in this are straight, one is queer. you’ll survive. LGBTQ people are not “angles,” they’re human beings, just like you. if your bigotry gets in the way of you seeing a film i feel sorry for you because it’s an absolutely pathetic reason to dislike a movie. especially considering the fact that like 1% of movies contain lesbian characters and in most cases those characters are not the central characters. you talk as if every film is a gay romance. i wish that were the case, but it isn’t. you speak as if gay characters are an annoyance. fuck that. gay people deserve to see themselves reflected in films just like straight people such as yourself do. heterosexuals like you have an unimaginable amount of representation in movies. queer people have crumbs. you’ll be just fine.
What a boring...low energy movie...it drags on and on.. and worst part of it all is all they do is speak in low soft voices... and walk around mumbling their lines... it's nearly impossible to understand what they are saying...
I watched this three years ago….I stumbled upon it. I cried. I’m going to watch it again.

looks like an excellent sleep aid

Do women actually think that just because one is a man that other men will simply listen and say okay?
Huh..?🤔 That comment doesn’t make any sense

@@BonzoKilbourncoming from a man. You suffer as a man, but that is not the same suffering of a woman.

looks like a miserable movie ..
Looks good, but must we always have a lesbian angle?
